Wooden Garage Door Panel Crack

Hello! We have a crack in one panel of our wooden garage door after we backed into it slightly before it was fully open. Ugh.

It doesn’t go all the way through. The panels are made of two thin layers of wood with maybe foam or something on the inside, but it sounds hollow when you knock on it. It’s from 1969 if that tells you anything.

I took a video but doesn’t look like I can post it. The crack does flex slightly when the door is moving.

We can’t afford to replace it now, and we’re starting to repaint so are there any suggestions for how to deal with this in a way that will last us a few years until we can replace the door properly?

For context, we’re in northern Illinois where the summers are hot and humid and the winters bring a ton of snow and ice.
