Porto/Douro: CCBN, Euskalduna, DOC, or Schisto?

I'm likely looking to choose just one of the above restaurants during my 4 days in Porto/Regua. For the Galician leg of my trip I've already booked D'Berto (which sounds like my platonic ideal of a restaurant) and Landua. The latter I've curiously seen nothing about on Reddit, but a 5-table fine dining restaurant run by a young couple in an old stable the middle of the woods (that hikers literally stumble upon) seems too dreamy to pass up.

My initial instinct was 100% Casa de Cha da Boa Nova because the entire purpose of my trip os to eat seafood by the water. And while the overall consensus on here seems pro-CCBN, there are enough detractors that I started doubting it! Specifically, many people (both pro and anti) seem to imply it was the ambiance that made the experience extra special, more than the food. Ill have no shortage of seafood on this trip as is so I wonder if I should spend by one fine dining day in Portugal elsewhere.

I've yet to see a bad opinion of Euskalduna, and the food sounds quite special. Im also considering DOC, since one Redditor said CCBN was their least favorite of Paula's restaurants. Lastly, Schisto looks amazing but again I can't find anything on Reddit about it! Would love your thoughts, especially if you've been to multiple of the options (or Landua!).

Fall weather in Galicia - Sept vs Oct?

I'm planning to visit Galicia (mostly the coast) in late October but my dates are flexible. Would going in early October make a significant difference in terms of rainfall? What about mid or late September? I know there's no guarantee and it will be a bit of a crapshoot, but I just want to get a feel for my odds. Thank you!

12 day itinerary in Northern Portugal and Galicia

PORTO 2 days

O GROVE 2 days

FISTERRA 2 days

SANTIAGO 3 days

VIANA DO CASTELO 1 day

DUORO 2 days (mostly relaxing at Octant Duoro before heading home out of OPO)

The trip will be mostly focused on eating (seafood especially, but everything), with a priority on smaller areas and not big cities. How does this look for a driving itinerary? Is 3 days in Santiago the right amount or should I give one back to Porto? Is Viana the right Northern Portugal smallish city to hit? And most importantly, what are your favorite restaurants in Galicia?

Road trip around Galicia - #1 priority is food

We (~40yo couple from NYC) are planning a road trip around Galicia in mid- or late October with the primary objective of eating well. For us this means ingredient-forward and often simple cooking, but we certainly wouldn't mind adding a couple finer spots to the mix. We will plan everything else—nature, cultural sites, beaches, architecture—around what works best in relation to the food we're seeking out. We have no must-see sites and are trusting that we'll be able to find beautiful landscapes on our route.

We will rent a car and would like to spend at least half the time outside of big cities, but we know that's sometimes where the good food is. We're currently planning for 8–12 days, which will include a few days in Porto (likely our origin/return point). We know we want to go to D'berto in O Grove and that we should probably spend a 2–3 days in Santiago. Everything else, we're open! Here are my questions:

  • Where would our best bases be? We don't mind moving around, so we're considering 2 other bases in Galicia in addition to Santiago. Maybe one in the rias area and one in the northeast of the region?
  • Food recommendations, of course. This could be a specific restaurant, or a special dish of a sub-region, or just a town where the eating is good. Only one of us drinks so wine/wineries are not a priority.

Thank you!
