Hello all! It's been quite a bit, so welcome back to the first edition of the r/Eurovisionfancontests all-stars tournament. As a recap, this contest compiles what users consider the best songs submitted to an r/Eurovisionfancontests contest in a huge bracket-style tournament. Songs from any fancontest are eligible to participate.

After checking through all the nominations, we have 96 eligible songs competing! 32 of these songs received 2 or more nominations in the first round of nominations and automatically qualify to the second round, while the other 64 will be competing in the first round. You can view the bracket here!

Can I submit songs by Eurovision artists?

Yes! We love new releases and hidden gems from Bubble artists. We discourage submitting their Eurovision song, but if the song didn’t win Eurovision then technically it’s allowed.

What is a ‘Bubble artist’?

Any Artist/Band who has competed in Eurovision or any National Selection. Aside from Rule 1, no other restrictions apply to their songs, even if the song is in English.

Why do the restrictions only apply to songs in English?

English hits are well-known in the countries most Eurovision Fans come from. Non-English songs rarely go global, so no limits.

What if the song I want to submit is only partly in English, do the restrictions still apply?

Bi-lingual/Multi-Lingual songs with English parts are not restricted as long as most of the song is not in English.

Some additional important information:

If you share multiple songs, please select only one of them to compete in Song Contest Sunday.

Covers of previously sent songs are allowed, if they are able to be looked up separately on YouTube/Spotify etc., alongside the original song. If this is the case, the cover is allowed. Covers of Eurovision winners are forbidden.

If you share an alternative version (such as an English or live version) alongside your song, said performance will also be linked in the Song Contest Sunday post tomorrow.

Songs that are shared after the 21st of June 00:00 CET will not be considered for SCS. Please share your songs before that point!

If you decide to participate, please note the following schedule if you'd like to follow the contest! You will also be mentioned in the post if you submit an entry, but we are not quite sure how mentioning works yet, so don't rely on it!

Reminder of the SCS Jury Duty Rules

Essentially, SCS runs like normal, except each user is given a “judge” who is also participating. After receiving their judge, each user must select a song that they believe will receive points from their judge. Artists that your judge has sent to fancontests on this sub are not allowed, but artists who other users have sent are valid. Users can still vote as normal, but if your judge votes for your song, their points towards your song are multiplied by 4 (for example, if your judge gave you 12 points, they would turn into 48 points, 10 would turn into 40, and so on) If your judge doesn’t give any points to your song, your overall points are reduced by 25%.

All users are mandated to vote — if they don’t, the user who they are judging will gain the amount of points they would have received if their judge placed them in the top 50% of entries. These points will be subtracted from the non-voting user's total.

Users will not know who has them as a judge. Conferring with your judge about your entry before the contest, or even letting them know they’re your judge, is forbidden.

Every 5 editions we'll host a special edition of SCS, where all submitted songs have to abide by a certain theme. Songs that already participated in past SCS-editions can be used again in these special editions unless otherwise stated in the theme's rules. This means you can also use past entries of other participants. (if they abide by the other rules)

However the other rules (no ESC winners and the subscriber/view limits) still apply, unless otherwise stated. This special edition will have the duration of a normal SCS-Week. In the following week SCS will continue as normal with the 46th edition.

Anyway, you can have a say what theme our submissions will abide by, by suggesting theme ideas by commenting under this post! Anyone can suggest one or multiple themes. Past themes that were already used can make a return if suggested. Please include the following things in your suggestion. Put each suggestion into a separate comment:

• A special SCS-Title for that edition which includes the theme. (example: Song Contest Sunday Anonymous)
• Describe the theme in a bit more detail (example: users must submit songs without revealing their identity through a Google Form, and users may guess who sent what song)

You may suggest theme ideas up until the release of the SCS 45 results. The mod team will decide upon the theme sometime in between now and the beginning of the song submission period. The theme will be revealed to everyone with the release of the song submissions post.
