Glyphs flicking between controller and keyboard

I’ve taken advantage of the steam sale to buy ‘old’ third person games I’ve ignored before getting the Steam Controller (Last of Us, God of War, FF7 Remake).

I find the controller is best with the right trackpad (and gyro) acting as mouse input, but this causes an issue of the Steam input glyphs flicking between the “last used device”.

Eg if I’m next to an intractable with my finger on the trackpad, The Last of Us suggests the E keyboard button, but if I press a button it will flip to the Y controller button.

I’ve tried to switch the trackpad to “as joystick” (so all inputs are as a controller) but the sensitivity doesn’t seem adjustable beyond the in game settings, which is too low for a trackpad.

As I see it, the only options to stop glyph flickering are to have all Steam Controller inputs as a controller OR kb+mouse, but this lack of flex misses out on the controller’s strengths.

Having all inputs as kb+mouse allows use of the mouse-trackpad but it’s difficult to remember all keyboard bindings.

It seems FF7 Remake handles it properly- all glyphs remain as the controller despite having mouse look in use on the trackpad. But I guess this is rare.

Anyone found similar frustrations or better workarounds? Am I being stupid for thinking this should be a Steam Input setting for the user?

Is Uprising the future of the digital version?

New player with the base game on Steam:

I’m interested in the expansions (the first two are in the summer sale) but I don’t want multiple editions of a game, I only have enough time to learn one.

Do we know the future of ranked- will it say as Ix and Immortality or will it swap to Uprising?

Isn’t there a “Trackpad click pressure” setting?

I find the trackpad click way too sensitive, all I’ve found in the Steam app settings is “soft press” vs “regular press”. Has the ability to customise the threshold been patched out or have I missed it?

Newbie Stuck

Have just installed a NAS media server running the UGREEN OS.

Have used Docker to create a pi-hole container, confirmed it is running, I can get to the admin page via http://192.168.178.100:8010/admin/ but I have to put the port number in, or else it loads the NAS OS page.

On my Windows PC I dial into my router and change the DNSv4 server to that of the pi-hole:

But when I save I can't load web pages. Help, please!

Media Server Newbie Questions

Annoyed at how many streaming apps there are now, would like to sail the seas. Would the following work and/or any other advice, please?

UGREEN DXP2800 (£300)

Initially 1x 4TB hard drice (£150!!)

On the NAS I set up Docker to make use of:

  • Radarr (movies)
  • Sonarr (TV)
  • Prowlarr (do I need to find torrent details myself or can it pick up the common ones?)
  • qBittorrent
  • Jellyfin
  • Overseer (to find titles of interest?)
  • Gluetun VPN (to bind qbitorrent to NordVPN)

On my AppleTV I download Infuse (would I need a paid subscription?)

I'm guessing I use a phone app or my PC's web browser to access the NAS' Overseer to find titles? And it sends the request to Radarr/Sonarr, which then gets qbittorrent to download them, it then moves them to appropriate folders that Jellyfin can stream to the AppleTV's Infused app?

I'm experienced in Windows but have no knowledge of Linux. Do we think this would work? Is anything overkill or have I misunderstood anything?

Cheers!
