WIndow AC unit in living room doesn't cool bedroom well, landlords won't allow a bedroom unit, want to run ducting along ceiling to funnel the AC air into the bedroom, anything I should know, or is it as simple as it sounds?
Basically the title.
I want to attach a small square box to the vent of the window unity (probably with Velcro), fasten some ducting to that box and run it along the ceiling to funnel the air directly to the bedroom. It's a small 1 bedroom apartment, so I don't need the air to travel very far, maybe 10-15 ft of ducting.
Is it as simple as that? Or is there anything I should be aware of so I don't ruin the ac unit, or anything I need to do to make it more effective?
edit: To everyone suggesting I get one of those twin hose floor units... I came to a DIY sub because I explicitly didn't want to spend $500+... A cheap window unit is like $100-200, I could maybe afford that, but since landlords said no, I was looking for a solution that won't cost me triple that amount.
Also, on that topic, yes, the landlord IS being ridiculous, but suggesting I just "do it anyway," and risk an eviction is some next level redditing
Do playable arcade cabinets in games use any special infrastructure?
for example, let's say I wanted to include the entirety of Doom in a playable arcade cabinet within a game, is there anything different I need to keep in mind when coding the game that will be on the arcade cabinet?
I'm designing smaller projects to learn, and intend on incorporating those smaller projects into my larger project as playable games on Arcade cabinets, and I'm mostly asking just so I can avoid having to go back and refactor the code on all of them once I get there if there is anything that needs to be done differently to get that to work
Edit: working in Godot, if that matters, not actually sure if different engines would handle this substantially differently
edit 2: To be clear, I do NOT mean a literal, physical arcade cabinet, lol, I mean a virtual one inside of the game, like mini games, like in Cyberpunk 2077 or Yakuza, how you can actually play the arcade cabinet games. My question was specifically pertaining to the process of coding the mini game as a standalone executable, and wondering if there was anything I needed to keep in mind to make sure I could simply slap the code into the other game as a mini game without having to refactor it.
after seeing the recent wand scaling builds being posted I felt like posting the build I've been using.
the scaling isn't nearly as ridiculous, this won't one shot bosses for the most part, but the goal was to get as much scaling as possible with as little investment as possible while keeping the scaling as generic as possible so that I could use whatever weapons or spells I felt like and not feel like I needed to respec for it
the core of the build is very similar to the aforementioned wand build, utilizing Arcane smite from the sarras mystic skill tree to convert our spell damage to physical damage, as well as scaling off of sneak attack damage utilizing the undertow Bloom vest
ultimately, this isn't quite as strong as just specializing in either one but the scaling gets so ridiculous that it ends up being more than enough And the versatility of having both means I can use any weapon, any spell, and still 1-2 shot mobs and melt bosses in a couple seconds
like I said, ultimately this isn't much of a build, but really more of a framework because the only things you need for this to get rolling are the chest, the Mystic sarras tree, and a handful of skill points invested into the stealth, wands and critical hit skill trees, and pretty much everything else can be spent how you want with most of your gear slots still open for experimentation. so from this point you can specialize or diversify as much as you want and everything will still just scale out of control
since most of our damage comes from spell power, and sneak attack damage, those are really the only stats we care about scaling and you can get a ton of sneak attack just from the skill trees as well as a decent amount of spell power from the skill trees and Sarras Mystic tree
I posted two particularly strong pairs of gloves as well as my preferred amulet, the hex grip vambraces stack with Arcane smite, and the other pair just offers surprisingly good sustain but if your damage is high enough you really won't need that. the amulet basically keeps enemies Frozen indefinitely, which is strong enough on its own, but also converts our damage to Elemental which lets us continue scaling off of other nodes in the magic and Mystic skill trees
obviously some gear is still going to perform better than others, such as The Crucible wand showcased in the wand build I keep mentioning, and the daggers that multiply your sneak attack damage will in turn multiply your crit damage making them arguably the bis dagger, tidepercer spear might be the best 2H, especially with the amulet and both will scale with battle mage
