Why does a freeze-all cycle come with an additional fee?

Through my clinic and through the company I'm using to help finance treatment, there is an additional charge for not having a fresh transfer, and instead freezing all embryos. Can anyone explain why this is?

Surely most retrievals result in more than one embryo, therefore when someone has a fresh transfer they are also having some embryos frozen. I can't understand why it costs more to forego fresh transfer (I have to due to possible OHSS), when I am technically receiving fewer treatments.

I know I must be missing something obvious here, but can someone enlighten me?

37 years old, AMH 6.08 ng/mL, AFC 40 and 49, no known PCOS, adeno and endo

I'm not sure how to feel. The Dr seemed very positive about it and at first I was happy to hear these numbers but the more I read, the more I worry about egg quality and being disappointed after retrieval.

I know I'm lucky to have good numbers but I'm worried about getting my hopes up!

I also found out recently I have some endometriosis, which was removed but the surgeon identified a "bulky adenomyotic uterus". So now I'm worrying about miscarriages etc. We are applying for a refund programme (access fertility in the UK). So also concerned we may not qualify based on this new information.

Can anyone relate to any of these things? How are things going for you?

We are almost at the point of starting medication etc. just waiting to hear back from the refund programme. I don't really have anyone in real life to talk about these things with.
