Is the Pirate king hat working as intended?
The perk from the hat is "+25 damage from ranged weapons in close combat".
Clearly it's meant to be 25%, not just 25.
Is this just a typo. Or is the hat actually bugged? Has anyone tested it?

If you are interested in seriously playing with Shurikens in this game, get the Firecracker Amigasa for Naoe this week at the exchange for 1350 keys. Engrave the perk from the Tools Master Scarf, and equip a trinket that boosts shuriken damage by 500% (from MOD's shop) or the sky flower trinket (from exchange when it shows up). You'll have a constant supply of high damage shurikens at all times from dead bodies!
Equip all mastery points in tools and the trinket engraving that gives 2% damage per mastery point in tools.
Completely compatible with any affliction as well. In this video I apply Bleed. I tried this in the domains and all domain bosses go down very very quickly.
Finally, after a year and a half, this is done!
Everything was pretty smooth, except the last DLC. I had to lower the difficulty on this one because it forces you too much into fights, enemies are needlessly damage spongy and quest progression is not saved automatically. Add to that the very awkward camera angle, and incessant climbing in the later part. I was so ready to just give up and move on.
Overall, I really enjoyed certain parts of the game, but I'm still annoyed at the save mechanic and the camera angle.
Title basically. I did the Awaji quest that gives Naoe 10 and Yasuke 12 rations. But for a few months now, that is gone. It's back to 9 and 11.

Others have this? I always play on Nightmare so it doesn't seem like a difficulty related issue.

Not that I really need that one ration, but I NEED to know if this is intended or a bug.

This build uses Excalibur and the new Eamon Hathaway armor from the Black Tides quest that make dazed enemies vulnerable.

If you can ensure your crit chance is high, Excalibur will always daze enemies and the armor will make them vulnerable. Plus they are dazed so they really don't fight well anymore. Tadaa!

I use here the perk from the Moonlight Crescent robes to get 50% crit chance when health is full. I also equip a perk on my helmet that increases crit chance the more adrenaline you have.

The amulet is "Howl of the Dragon" I believe - 2% crit damage per mastery point in Long Katana.

Level 10 Sandayu, Eamon, and 10 of Nobutsuna's students will go down very fast. In this video, it takes 2 minutes because there was a debuff where enemies take much less damage. If anything, it shows how quick you can take them out normally.

Overclocked (Domain shrine bonus) + Gilded parting (Katana or perk) + Fractured Caliburn (Katana or perk) + Destiny's Grin (Amulet) + Power Dash (Katana Ability).

Armor and Headgear you can pick anything. I had the following perks on armor: 100% of an adrenaline slot on weakpoint attack, +30% poison duration (does not matter here). On headgear I had 20% chance for posture attacks to hit twice, stagger surrounding enemies on weakpoint attacks. But these are all IRRELEVANT. I'm sure some other perks can do this even better.

Enjoy! And feel free to try it out. You should be able to do this even without Overclocked. It will be slower obviously but still fun to use, particularly against these students!

This was so fun. I'm glad I was able to pick Destiny's Grin and Gilded parting this week at the exchange.
I am seeing a lot of people talking about the difficulty of the domains. These are difficult, so the frustration is warranted. However the key point is that nobody was expecting this difficulty in an AC game. The last time AC was this difficult was in the Svartalfheim arena in Valhalla, but that was in a paid DLC.
But the mode is here, and it is not impossible.
Domains are made to make you engage with the build system. If you don't want to create builds, that's perfectly fine, but then this game mode isn't for you. They also require you to learn a few systems such as the reroll mechanic.
Not every build will kill Sandayu Prime. Not every build will survive the debuffs. So you can either make a good build, or not engage. But I think wanting to play domains without wanting to make builds is not going to work.
These are challenging, and not for everyone. However, everyone is capable of beating challenge level 10 if they want to learn how to build. People are already posting their builds and you can look up builds online. The community should help people out with builds and strategies too.
But please don't say "This is Assassin's Creed. I shouldn't need a build". Remember, it's an OPTIONAL challenge mode. You don't have to engage with it. You don't need the rewards to play the story, or get platinum. And you don't need to complete domains to do the battle pass.
So if you're frustrated with Sandayu or the million students of Nobutsuna, relax. I have been heavily frustrated with them too, but I figured out how to deal with them. And if I can, anyone can.
This is me taking on Sandayu Prime at Challenge level 10, with the modifier which requires you to use your bow.

It was a bit hard to create distance initially, but once you use the bow ability that slows down time, I did it before he could do phase 2. I could have done it faster if I kept aim assist on.

My bow is the screaming rocket, enhanced to level 9. The other engraving I use is +16% damage for each adrenaline chunk filled. It is an amazing bow.

I love using the bow in this game!

Sorry for spamming this sub, but...

We got a lot of cool gear like excalibur, but none of it is very usable because the amount of resources required to make them competitive in a domain is insane.

At this rate, people will simply never use any of these gear, because most of us simply don't have the time to enhance the new gear to level 9.

I suggest a system where if you have, say, an artifact level 9 kusarigama, you should be able to transfer these artifact levels to another kusarigama by paying mon, or MODcoins.

What do other people think? (Please don't respond here if all you're going to say is "Ubisoft bad".)

I have finished the domains upto level 10. It's a fun game mode. But I must say, I really don't understand when some things are bugged or just debuffed. Here are some of them:
I'm sure that there are several perks that similarly do not work. I hope if they are bugged, we'll get a patch.
Overall really love this mode. It's hard for a lot of us, including me, but it's fun.

I got Momochi Prime as the boss with constant thunder, unstable anomalies that push you back, and less damage with non-abilities, at level 6.

This was honestly much much harder than fighting all Nobutsuna's students at Level 10. Took me 20 tries, at least.

Initially I thought these modifiers were just minor inconveniences. But no. Three terrible modifiers can make a huge difference.

I finished playing all the story content in the new update! It was what I would consider the TRUE ending. It was amazing.

Without spoiling anything, I would just like to say that if this content from the beginning, there would be a lot less to complain about the story of Shadows.

There are references to lore (lore from several games in fact, not just Kassandra), and of course, a "standard" Isu vault ending that every AC game must have.

Nothing could have fixed the Shinbakufu quests since those were so devoid of Assassin's Creed that they were beyond saving. But we needed less of those and the rifts, claws of Awaji, Rufino, Puzzlement and Black Tides to be there at the beginning.

The main story needed closure on many fronts and that closure was drip fed to us over a year. And that is why it was a bad story.

Ubisoft, don't do this. Assassin's Creed doesn't work like a live service. Have the complete story there from the start, please!
Assassin's Creed is my favorite franchise mostly because I actually admire what the assassins believe in - they kill people who seek power and wealth at the cost of the suffering of the less fortunate. Yes, I understand that what the assassins do is technically criminal, but the assassins do it because the law always protects the rich and powerful, even by breaking itself if it has to.
If you look at real life today, every big company, every megacorporation is Abstergo. Our data is being stolen, we are being fed targeted ads so that we become slaves to things like social media or chatbots that are literally ruining our capabilities to even think for ourselves.
In such a scenario, does it make sense for Ubisoft, another big company, to make games that celebrate the story of assassins? The people who, if they actually existed, would have been a big problem for all these corporations?
Wouldn't it be better to just get rid of the modern day story altogether? To not draw attention to Abstergo at all? Or to lock it behind a battle pass so that fewer people have access to it? Or even better, set the modern day in the year 2096, so that it is no longer contemporary, but can be presented as a dystopian sci-fi story that doesn't hit too close to home?
I feel like back in 2007, a techno giant like Abstergo felt like fiction, and it was okay back then. Today however, techno giants are here, and they are already affecting us, and they need to not expose themselves too much through a proper modern day.
In line with the "Overdesigned" trophies in Origins, Valhalla and Shadows, here are my ideas for what the fourth overdesign trophy should ask us to do:
"Using the rope dart, hang a berserk enemy from a tree branch after he has killed two of his friends."
OR "Perform a double assassination where one of the targets is British and the other Spanish".
OR "Make a berserk guard kill a sleeping guard and then assassinate him undetected using a smoke bomb".
Final idea: "While captaining a man-o-war, destroy three ships using forward, broadside and backward volleys within 30 seconds of each other".
What do people think? (Feel free to add more! Some of these are easier than the others.)
The Abyss Chains kusarigama is on the exchange this week. It allows you to throw a smoke bomb on rush assassinations.
This means you won't be detected right after rush assassinating! It's a really good perk and so far in my 25 minutes of using it, stealth has become trivial.
It's a peak "Pay 2 win" weapon, except this week it's free!😀
