Kuna or Stribog

Worried your buddy with a Stribog is looking down on you? Regretting that you didn’t get that sexy squared off hand guard? We’ll have we got something for you!

…Actually, I am working on a super flush handguard.
I’m going to use the internal geometry of the handguard to index on, and potentially features on the top of the receiver as well.
I’m debating using the front side mlok points to secure it, maybe with a low profile plate on the outside.

I’m open to suggestions, what would people like to see? Extended to the limit of the muzzle device ports with the same profile as the original front? Squared off?
Flared out and much longer for a suppressor or flash can?

Flashlight Grip

Ok here’s basically the final form, I added some cutouts to route the cable left or right and a pocket so the cable won’t twist around in the socket.
I’m not interested in developing that concept any more, so let me know if anyone wants it and I’ll post it.

I already broke the light’s USB-C port, and soldered a new port on. However, the flashlight is not exactly built well on the inside, I don’t expect it to hold up long on a real firearm so I don’t recommend it.

It was a good experiment though and I might replicate it with a better light.

Prototype Light Mount

I bashed out a grip mount for the Monstrum Ember…

Just trying to find a more streamlined way to mount a light on this thing.

I’ve got to add a better cutout for the cable to route, grip texture, add better protection for the plug end, and figure out a better way to handle the transition between the front of the lower receiver and the light housing.

If anyone has any suggestions on on look or shape let me know!

Kuna Grip Release

I've started posting the grips I have made, this one is my favorite.
I can't post a link, but you can probably find kunadude while you are sailing.
Let me know if you have any suggestions!

New Grip

Just finished up the draft of this one.
I’m pretty new at this and trying to learn, so any suggestions anyone has would be helpful.

I can also post the file up somewhere if anyone wants it, I’ll have to figure out the best way to do that, I’ve never done that before.

Not sure what I am calling this one.

Custom Case for Kuna

So I wanted a case with some aura… I took an old samsonite hard briefcase, bought the foam that you cut out for room drawer inserts, traced out the kuna and two mags, and cut down to the depths I needed.
Not super practical but it looks awesome.

Another One

I gave in to the temptation and joined the club a few days ago.
Acro clone is a Gideon mediator, which I really like actually and has held up really well.
The pistol light on the top rail is surprisingly ergonomic to use, but otherwise isn’t anything special.

New Old DMC-L1

I took a chance on an ebay purchase and this thing was MINT - just a bit over 1000 shutter actuations. It came with the 14-50mm Leica zoom, box, and every single original accessory.
I had to update the firmware since it was on the original firmware - hugely recommend this, the autofocus improved substantially.

This camera really is fun to use - if you don't know it has no PASM dial and operates in a program mode. When you change the shutter speed dial on the top it goes into shutter priority, or if you take the aperture ring out of auto it changes to aperture priority. If you do both it is basically in manual mode. You can also use exposure compensation in the semi auto modes. The built in flash is super fun as well, and has a bounce and direct mode.

This thing is a chunky boy. It's a little like holding a brick, honestly. The grip swell and thumb extension are very well done, and at least for someone like me it is very comfortable to hold and easy enough to operate.

7.5 megapixels doesn't seem like much in 2026, but I think it's holding up quite well. The Leica branded panasonic zoom is really quite good - it was ahead of it's time, and I think informed the later 12-60mm Leica branded zoom that came after it in micro four thirds.

Of course the low light performance is where it gets substantially worse... but it's a 20 year old camera, it has an excuse.

The viewfinder is really, really not great. The porro-mirror optical system that it shares with the Olympus E-330 is designed for a second live view sensor that panasonic never used, and consequently the viewfinder is throwing away light for no purpose.
And yes, the mirror slaps sideways instead of up. Very, very hipster.

Overall I highly recommend one of these if you have the itch and the budget, but they are rapidly becoming a collectible I think, and the price has been going up.

I've attached some pics I took with the camera - they aren't my finest work, but I think they get the point across. All straight out of camera.
