powermac G4 cube is working again!
with a freshly installed SSD and tiger 10.4, shout out techtronics in Manhattan! as it turns out the fuse had blown out.
do you guys think it's a good idea to run wifi/Ethernet on this and browse the web or no? 😅

here i have my ADC to HDMI adapter connected to my Mac mini, and a USB-C to hdmi adapter connected to an old flat screen tv
i used this hack to get higher resolution video capture of VHS/Hi8 tapes using El Gato's video capture card with OBS on Mac

previously you could only use their cable with their software and the results were pretty sub par. this is a cool alternative if you have a monitor, though i don't think you need one. this only works on Mac OS 13+!
i would say the 4:3 resolution of the studio display really adds to the experience when watching these tapes full screen!
was able to get my hands on an adc to dvi adapter and connect this monitor to my mac mini while my power mac g4 cube is in the repair shop, absolutely loving his display!
as for powering everything up, i'd highly recommend grounded wall outlets or a power strip with at least 1500J surge protection
other cool hacks i found, this lets you use the apple pro speakers on newer mac systems, no soldering required!
anyone know a fix?
sorry for the typo G4 cube*
