Rules Update

Hey all,

The results of the poll regarding discussion and photos of slaughter-related topics show that the community would prefer that these posts be allowed to continue.

Going forward, these posts must be labeled NSFW and flaired with the new Slaughter flair. Any meat posts not following this rule will be removed and repeat offenders will be banned.

The rationale for continuing to allow these posts is for educational purposes to help ensure that meat birds are treated as humanely as possible.

Anyone posting images, videos, or text that depict inhumane handling or slaughtering of meat turkeys will be permanently banned.

If anyone is either not following the new rule or being nasty toward people who post about slaughter while following the new rules, please report these posts to mods.

Thank you.

/r/turkeys as meat

Hello all!

While not in our official rules, we do have "no violence against turkeys" in our community description. I understand we have people who raise turkeys as meat and also people who keep them strictly as pets. I also understand there are people who eat meat but don't really want to see photos of it.

As there are other subreddits that cater to homesteading, farming, and livestock on reddit that allow butchering photos, should we also allow meat / slaughter posts behind an NSFW filter or disallow them entirely going forward?

Until the poll is concluded, meat posts will be allowed with the NSFW filter applied.

Vietnamese Deep Fried Rice Noodle Dish

It was pile of deep fried flat rice noodles served with a reddish brown sauce that was quite sweet. The two protein options were beef and chicken, but I only ever had the beef. I don't believe there were any vegetables in the sauce, just the meat. The sauce was served on top with a portion of the noodles left dry. I think it had sesame seeds sprinkled on top.

The only word from the name I can remember is bò (beef), which is not terribly helpful.

Thank you in advance!
