Do I risk it? (+ job prospects after BAI?)

This is a weird question but ill be applying to Bocconi and École Polytechnique bachelors. And there is an issue with the timing because I can only apply during the winter round for l'X (cause of the interview and other reasons). But im also scared I won't get into neither of the unis (since I'll likely have to apply to Bocconi winter session, pay the deposit while I wait for the l'X results).

Im looking at BAI (and BEMACS). If anyone was in this position,is it worth it risking my Bocconi app for l'X bachelors? Would l'X bachelors give me better opportunities for hedge funds/tech PE than BAI? Also think its important to note that to get job exp in France id need a masters after (or at least according to the French).

Im not Italian/French (im EE) so the job market will probably be tough in both countries.. Im not necessarily looking at working in Europe (I mean its not my target). im moreso interested in East Asia (China/Singapore). Probably weird studying in Europe for EA market but it seems to be saturated with brilliant NUS and HKU grads.

If any BAI students can give their opinion id be incredibly grateful.

For reference my GPA is 10 and 9.9. I'll be doing my first SAT this Saturday, expecting ~1460. Can bring it up to 1500+ probably by October/Sept if I try hard.

A0 to B2 French in 1.5 years?

Hello. Im planning on moving to France for a bachelor's. Although they would be providing French language classes, I want to prepare myself for internships and learn sufficient French. I have a whole year before I go into uni, and probably at least another 6 months (on top of that 1 year) for an internship if not a year or more.

I want to get to at least B2 level in as little time as possible. Since I have very little responsibilities (just to finish school with good grades) I am able to put in a lot of work.

Im willing to pay for intensive French courses so if anyone has recommendations, let me know.

I had experience learning other languages (like English and Korean) however I've done so through a tutor usually, and since I am at an international school, I learned very decent English in around 6 months as I was immersed in it. This is just for some context.

If anyone could share any resources or tips or experience, I'd be grateful.

Which SAT score do i target

Hi guys. The most competitive course im ready to take on is BIEF, although im also really interested in BAI and BESS.

My third last year gpa is like 9.875 (igcse)

My second last year gpa is 10.0 (im applying with as levels so I guess this is the gpa)

Which sat score do i target to get into any of those during second round of application (winter)?

Is there anything I can do?

my exam center let me in even tho I was late (arrived after the key time) to the exam but didnt give me the full exam time (cut me short of at least 30 mins), I also wasn't informed abt any rules of late arrival (no devices if im arriving late rule etc) and i was never asked to sign a late arrival form. + i missed 5-15 mins of my exam time bcuz the exam room was locked when I arrived and I had to call staff to open it etc. (which is why I used my phone)

Im scared ill get a shitty grade bcuz I didnt have enough time for 1/3 of the paper, but I never knew abt the late arrival form so its too late to sign an appeal for that.

I want to let the unis im applying to know abt my late arrival and all of these circumstances but is that possible formally?

Someone pls predict my as grades

maths: p1 - 70/75 at worst

p5 - assessed

physics: p1 - 32/40

p2 - 50/60 at worst

p3 - 32/40

Do I have enough time?

I just did my first ever SAT practice test (practice 6 on bluebook) and got 1390 (670 english, 720 math). Mostly cuz of time management for math and lack of theoretical knowledge for english.

Do I have time to get up to 1500 for August (or at max September) ? I'll be getting a tutor if i do have enough time..

Is it too late

Haven't done SAT, i got 2 attempts for SAT for early session. Will I be heavily disadvantaged if I apply 2nd round?

My math is excellent, English section might be an issue.

Econ As

So I fucked up my econ exam cuz I came late by like 1 hour almost.

I was confident abt getting an A but now idk since I didnt do most of the first page for open ended.

If I get a B do I retake ? (I've never gotten a B for any subject, especially econ and for my uni choices I can't rly afford a B either) or do I try my best next academic year to bring it to an A?

My MCQ went really well though (predicting 3 marks off max).

9709 question

for p12 im predicting a 100 but my paper was messy. I crossed out a bunch of stuff, almost went out of the lines where you show ur working, would alternate between working in one column, or in two columns side by side, or in a line. My handwriting was okay, as in it would be hard to think that a number i wrote could be some other number, but still the thought of this makes me paranoid.

plus, i didn't show ALL of the steps. I mean like if i was integrating something, id integrate in my head and put the final result of the integration on the paper yk.

Is that ok? Am I cooked?

Was anyone else in this situation? Was the examiner ok?

How can I improve my portfolio

Im an international A level student who wants to get into the math + econ bachelors.

predicted A*A*A for math, physics, econ.

I have 7 A*s (maximum amt of subject i could take at my school :( )

For my extracurriculars unfortunately i dont have a lot..

  1. 2 international silver medals for a test based science olympiad and 2 international bronze medals for a group project based olympiad.

  2. 2 National round bronze medals for math

  3. A silver medal for an international science research competition (but its on an environmental issue in my country tho)

  4. i managed a 3 month stock portfolio and pitched it to judges (but didnt win)

  5. was in a math masterclass by l'X itself

6

What can I do over the summer to maximise my chances of getting in?
