Didn't realize how much I've ended up paying in income tax until I looked at the numbers. It's all from salary income in tech, no esops or anything else. Kind of surreal that what used to be my monthly salary a few years ago is now my monthly TDS amount. Total income tax paid so far is around ₹60 lakhs, with ₹17 lakh deducted this year alone.
How are you guys managing it? By finding ways to reduce tax or by finding ways to increase income even more?
I vive coded a simple web app as a weekend project that fetches your data from income tax website and shows you the status of your itr, your past ITRs, tax deposits, challans, refunds etc.
Can even add multiple PANs to keep track of everything automatically without manually logging in. So a CA can just upload a sheet of their clients and this app will automatically fetch the itr/refund status and other details.
People who just let their CAs manage their account can also use this to verify what has been filed and download their docs without having to navigate the complex ui of the official website.
Thinking of adding more features like accessing AIS/TIS. Should I make this public for everyone to use? Would it be useful for individuals and tax professionals?
