10 years on effexor caused binge eating and brain fog, is pristiq likely to do the same?

After taking effexor for over 10 years, I told my psychiatrist I couldn't tolerate the mental and physical side effects anymore. It worked great for my anxiety in the sense that I didn't feel much of anything- good or bad, but the binge eating and weight gain became a serious problem. She suggested a few antidepressants based on the genesight test I took and saw that pristiq was on the list. Since the medications are so close to each other, is it likely I would have the same experience on pristiq?

Looking for insight on starting vilazodone (viibryd) - when do side effects get better??

I started 10mg of vilazodone 1 week ago and the lightheadedness/nausea/headache/stomach upset combo is kicking my butt. I haven't been able to do much of anything this past week due to physically feeling like garbage. My psychiatrist initially wanted me to go up to 20mg the second week but I don't know if I'd be able to function at all if these side effects increased. I've tried many antidepressants in the past so I don't want to give up after one week. Folks who are on this med or have taken it- when did you notice the initial side effects go away?

Baffled by family member's insistence that CPAPs are bad for you

Some background: I was diagnosed with sleep apnea two years ago and began CPAP therapy. I have noticed a big difference in my mental well-being and physical health (like not getting debilitating/frequent sinus infections).

My mom was diagnosed with sleep apnea a few months ago and started CPAP therapy, she since then informed me that my dad has not been supportive whatsoever of the change. My dad is is antivax and generally anti science so I wasn't too surprised.🤦 However, I was talking with my mom today and she was telling me that my dad showed her an article online (source unknown) to 'prove' that CPAPs are bad for your brain. I was like huh???? It was almost laughable to hear how dumb he is being about this, but my mom has common sense and didn't buy into it. Long ago I realized I can't change his mind about things like this, even if I come at him with 100 research based articles- he'll refuse to acknowledge it.

Basically I'm just pissed he's trying to push his anti medicine(?) views on my mom and her health journey.

*Clarification that my mom thankfully does not hold the same anti science beliefs he does.
