how do mac’s perform in today’s CS?

Not interested at all in the engineering side, just CS. I know the CoE reccomends specs that can basically handle AutoCad MATLAB etc but you wouldn’t be using those programs in CS. Thinking of getting a Neo to be cheap for now and after an internship upgrade possibly but supposedly online it works for programmers to a certain extent(that extent being not crazy shi you wouldn’t be doing as an undergrad) but I just don’t know what the CS program at UF entails. Also, I would CS at CLAS and double majoring it with math or stats.

Essentially are Macs compatible today with most software programs and do they require VMs etc, would I have issue with a Macbook Neo as a broke student for now

Should I triple major? CS+Math+Econ

I will graduate high school with my AA essentially meaning if I double major in CS & Math I could easily do it in 4 years, giving me time to do internships etc in the summer. Btw i’m not saying it’s easy but in timeframe it works out. Furthermore, I see that econ at a school I’m aiming for only will need a 20ish credits more because I have so much college credit from APs and dual-enrollment. Really to triple major in econ, I would need intermediate micro and macro, and 4-5 elective econ credits. My goal is to pursue data analytics/quantitative finance but because the school I go to is a non-target I was thinking of doing a masters 2-4 years after graduation, like ideally MIT MFin or CMU QuantFin. In my opinion, the classes shouldn’t hurt my gpa but maybe help. I could do 1-2 per summer, online too maybe to. I honestly could still have space for the classes with my double major track because it’s not a lot and it’s just econ. Lastly, I will have a complete full ride to this school and there is no downside of this except the extra work. Will this help my goal of going into quantitative finance or master programs? Or is it useless. Also I am asking this now because I can still do dual enrollment and take some classes so like I said all I woild need is the intermediate… 4-5 elective…. Thanks for reading
