Has anyone actually tried that, and did it work out?

Brothers and sisters in this sub,
my query comes from the fact that there are two sorts of masters degrees (among many) that are offered at Germany.
I see, that though the MS is offered widely, there is another degree called the MA in which is offered too, for similarly named degrees sometimes.
Now, how do they differ actually?
And, what is the difference in perception, when it comes to both degrees?
Are there any differences created in how visas are offered etc?
