I can’t figure out why the wind temple boss won’t topple over?
I’m at the sixth dungeon boss. It’s an evil weather vane… and there’s like a lot going on. Giant arrows, random holes disappearing, and me dashing all over the place and much like the ice temple boss there’s a pit surrounding the small platform. I get I’m supposed to dash into him to make him topple over but either I’m still low on defense or offense, I only have the first armor and weapon upgrades but for some reason none of my dashes seem to register… and falling into a pit and water still does a whole heart piece even after getting better armor? I can make it spin but as soon as it jumps up it gets completely reset much like the earth dungeon boss at least this one doesn’t have a bunch of snakes that drop absolutely nothing 100% of the time.
This shouldn’t be so unintuitive. No other enemy has this mechanic, if you’re going to introduce a new mechanic… add it to enemies… prior to the boss. It’s just basic game design 101. I’m really enjoying this game but it’s not nearly polished enough… the water temple was really annoying because there seems to be three stages of water and nearly no discernible difference between half full and full which made that boss way harder than it needed to be. Also the earth boss had like way too many snakes, anytime it beat its chest it would add so many snakes it would slow down the game for a second. And like 75% of the time the way the pillars were arranged the earth boss would have absolutely no way to be hit by the pillars or would completely collapse in every direction but towards the boss and there was no discernible way to determine how the pillars would fall until you used the earth element. The fire and ice bosses are fine. But the other bosses are far less intuitive and frustrating.
It would be so much more fun if each element gave you like a different innate ability? Like fire makes you resistant to getting burnt, nature speeds up your mana refill rate, ice makes it so you don’t slip on ice, water reduces your damage to falling into water, earth increases your innate defense/reduces your knock back distance, wind reduces your fall damage, etc.
