Johnnie was good but then..

So following a thread on here regarding Johnnie Walker Black Label, I got a bottle from the supermarket however on the shelf next to it was Bunnahabhain Stiüireadair, which was on my list to try, so I got both.
Black label was a pleasant drink, with enough initial taste complexity to keep it interesting but then the Stiüireadair was tasted.
This had so much complexity of initial taste that I struggled to make sense of it all, amazing drink and even more so given both of these were the same price.

Physics of gym pulleys

On holiday visited a JD Gym earlier in the week for the first time, doing wide grip lat pulldowns I managed to reach about 80kg. Today same gym, only managed 40kg.

Looking at the machine setup, it had the option of using a bar to link 2 pulleys and thus I’m guessing reduce the lift effort. Today, I only used 1 pulley but I’m guessing the previous exercise must have been setup to use both pulleys.

What is the point/benefit of using a double pulley setup if it appears to distort your actual weight pulled?

Saving money whilst travelling

When I’m home I work a weekly routine of upper, lower, rest, upper, lower, 2 days rest in my home dumbbell gym, basically to keep each routine to around an hour.

As I’m travelling I bought a day pass to a local gym and did my custom upper machine focused workout, tomorrow will be lower at the same gym.

I’ve just realised I could save money by doing both upper and lower on the same day, a downside perhaps would be increased rest days.

Is there an issue other than session duration to doing this?

Aloe Vera sunburn

Had to move my Aloe Vera plant away from direct sunlight as it managed to get sunburn in Scotland. Been a couple of days and the redness is definitely receding. Not sure what it is about Scottish sunlight but it’s definitely aggressive
