What’s the max you pay before it’s no longer a “bargain” met a guy who had multiple copies of EVERYTHING but I couldn’t accept $10 per record fo r something like Stevie Nicks Bella Donna or Simon Garfunkel - Bridge over trouble water

Can someone explain how the heck these old tom holder work? I just got this vintage 50’s Broadkaster and I can’t seem to use the tom holder unless I scoot it all the way to the left side. I’ve seen fotos of toms much closer to the center (by the badge) but as you see in the foto there’s not enough of a gap to do so…
I really do not want to use a 2nd snare stand.
I’m receiving this pair of hoops and my goal is to paint / stain em the color like you see in 2nd photo. Never done this and would love any advise before I go for it. Thanks in advance 😊
