To pool or not too pool?
Thinking about adding a pool to my property and wanted some honest feedback from people who’ve actually gone through it.
We’re also planning to run the house as an Airbnb, so I’m trying to factor in both personal use and short-term rental guests.
For those of you who’ve built a pool:
Do you regret it at all?
Did guests actually use and enjoy it if you Airbnb’d your place?
Any surprise costs (maintenance, cleaning, heating, repairs, etc.)?
How did it impact insurance especially Airbnb liability coverage and premiums?
Did you need an umbrella policy or special STR coverage because of the pool?
Did it value of Airbnb income?
Would you do it again knowing what you know now?
Trying to figure out if it’s a real value add or just a high-maintenance feature that looks better on paper than it plays out in reality.
