Thoughts for next year

Every time a firework goes off the birds squawk and try to fly to a seemingly more quiet area until another one goes. They do this all night.

There’s wildlife in your area who are trying to find a safe space, really afraid while you’re setting off your fireworks.

Maybe next year you’ll consider saving your money or setting them off at the res.

Edit for clarification: It seems some folks think my original post means I’m racist so I thought I’d provide some additional context as to why I gave setting fireworks off at the reservations as a second option to consider. I personally wish no fireworks would be going off anywhere, however, if people want to purchase fireworks they can legally do so on tribal reservations.

The large booming fireworks we’re all hearing tonight are illegal per Washington state regulation. The tribes are sovereign nations so they are not subject to the state laws banning fireworks. The tribes develop their own laws and govern themselves. Most tribes in Washington have legalized the sale of fireworks and if you legally purchase fireworks from the tribes you are supposed to set them off on the reservation.
