When the Red Corsairs can't afford the real Doom Slayer
Had some fun painting this guy as a Doom-inspired Red Corsair. Still got a few details to finish, but I thought the helmet and ridiculous amount of firepower fit the theme pretty well haha

Hello, fellow raiders!
As the title says, I'm looking for some inspiration for a Chaos Sorcerer in Terminator Armour. I find the official model pretty underwhelming.
Since I mostly play with friends, I've been using a few Horus Heresy models as stand-ins for characters. For example, I'm using Sevatar as my Chaos Lord and the Night Lords Praetor as my Executioner. I've also done a few "mini" kitbashes throughout the army, like swapping a Legionary power fist for a Raptor one and other little conversions.
I've been considering turning my Warhammer+ miniature into a Chaos Sorcerer, but I'm not completely sold on the idea yet. Corrupt aeldari/drukahri even tho its not lore friendly.
So I'm curious and could really use some tips/inspiration regarding this. What have you guys used as your Terminator Sorcerer? Have you done any cool kitbashes or found any HH or AoS models that work well? I would really appreciate to see some examples or hear your ideas!
I'm pretty new to playing tabletop and could use some advice.
I started with the Night Lords Combat Patrol and am now building the Red Corsairs Battleforce. Since I wanted my Legionaries to look different from my Nemesis Claw, I've done quite a bit of kitbashing.
I'm building my Legionaries as two 5-man squads and so far I've built:
Leader with HMW, Icon, plasma pistol
Legionary with Heavy Melee Weapon
2x Legionaries with chainsword + bolt pistol
The issue is that I still have 2 Legionaries left to build.
I've read a lot of discussions recommending a Lascannon, Reaper Chaincannon, Autocannon, etc., but from what I understand those aren't included in the standard Legionaries kit and usually come from Havocs, older kits, or kitbashing. I'm not planning on buying Havocs or hunting down upgrade bits just for that. I also allready built the rocket launcher and machine gun on my nemesis claw.
Given the models and bits available in the Legionaries box, what would you build the last two as?
Would you go with Plasma Gun, Meltagun or Flamer maybe something else entirely?
I'm mostly interested in what gives me the most flexibility and usefulness on the tabletop while sticking to the contents of the kit. I also know that 11th edition is around the corner, rule of cool, WSIWYG and so on. I would really appreciate any advice you have
Thanks!
Hey fellow mateys,
Like many others, I used to collect Warhammer when I was younger, and recently got back into the hobby, and now I’m completely hooked on the plastic crack again. I started with the Night Lords Combat Patrol because I absolutely fell for the whole psycho renegade/raider chaos warband aesthetic. I’m not super into the daemon-heavy side of Chaos, so the more grounded pirate/reaver vibe really clicked with me.
While painting and listening to lore videos, I started hearing about Huron and the Badab War, which eventually led me to picking up the Red Corsairs Battleforce and Lords of the Maelstrom. I usually prime my minis black. The thing is, almost every tutorial I’ve watched on YouTube (except the official Warhammer one) recommends priming white for Red Corsairs.
What’s your experience painting these guys? Especially the characters. Do you still start from black, or is white/grey primer genuinely the better approach for getting a nice rich red?
Would love to hear what worked best for you all.
