German shepherd with skin allergies
Hello! I’m coming on here to hopefully find a solution to my GSD skin issues. He just turned 7 and when he was about 5 is when we started having issues. He started having seizures randomly throughout the year. Finally after about half a year ago the vet said he had epilepsy and was put on seizure medication. Now has not had any seizures since then. But also around the time we started having seizures his skin would flare up and we’ve tried so many things like multi vitamins and shampoos. I currently use a leave on foam for the areas that are affected and an anti itch spray to calm the skin. I haven’t gotten allergy meds from the vet because I’m not sure if those will affect his seizures or if they’ll actually work for his skin but I think next time at the vet I might get some to try. The vet also said it was just a build up of bacteria or hotspots that’s why we use the leave on foam but I’m not positive if that’s necessarily helping. If anyone has had similar experiences and know anything that would help that would be much appreciated!
