Mayflash F700 Advice Needed

I have a Mayflash F700 fight stick, and I'm not a huge fan of the metal plate on the bottom that adds 5lbs. Is there anything I can do about that? I'm also not a huge fan of how the plexiglass feels when I rest my hands on it. I assume that's just a me thing, but any advice would be appreciated.
