Hey everyone a couple weeks back I asked the sub for recommendations for good esoteric book shops and yall sure did deliver! I went to all three major recs (Atlantis, Treadwell’s, and Watkins).

Atlantis: this store had a great variety in a rather small space. The books take up about 2/3rds the rather small store but there is plenty of variety and like one redditor said the owner is very nice and happy to talk. She pointed out a great book for me on kabalah that was just the level I was looking for. This store out of all of them carried the largest supply of tarot (tons of deck variants I bought the hermetic deck) and spell things (candles and such with explanations posted as to what they are intended for) overall a great store and worth a stop.

Treadwells: when I visited it seems they were maybe updating the basement or it was closed so not their full stock but they had quite a variety of books including fiction stuff if that’s your style. I didn’t purchase anything in this one but it’s close to Watkins so if you’re already in the area worth a stop. Also when I went the street was under construction it seems so it was kinda hard to spot with just a small sign sticking out

Watkins: this one easily surpassed each in their quantity and variety of books. Anything you could think of you want to study they got it. The staff were helpful and happily pointed me in the right direction and answer my questions and I ended up grabbing a book on alchemy and a basic astrology book. This one is a must visit if you have a particular need and the staff are knowledgeable. They also had a dude who does palm reading and has been doing it for them for like almost a decade if that’s your thing
