I had to pull both door jams to unhook the signal wire for the lock switch because it ground somewhere In the chassis. I broke these because there’s no room to freaking work and today when I rinsed it off a few hours later all the locks started unlocking constantly so after messing with the fob I opened the door which immediately stoped it, but I still pulled the fuse. I put it back in a few hours later and it’s fine.

I need these jamb housings but I can’t find them and I’m sure pulling them out of a junk yard they will just break the same way😞.

it seems to mainly happen when the wheel is turned in but it also knocks when it’s turned out as well, it’s just less likely. But when I mount the curb with it out it’s quiet. Approaching it with the wheel in and it creaks when I hit the small lip of the curb and then again when I climb it.

Also it’s only from the drivers side although it does sound like it’s coming from further in.

When I did the balljoints I messed with it and it felt fine/ no different from the other side.

It’s a 2000 4.7 AWD.

Edit also to add I can feel it through the floor it feels horrible.

The switch melted and I believe it’s from the orange and violet a wire being ground. Can I pop that pin out at the CTM and run a wire from there to the passenger switch to test it? And or as a “temporary fix”.

As of now I can unlock and lock the doors with the key fob or I can just unlock the doors from the passenger switch. If I try and lock then nothing happens and the 20a fuse blows.

Also if the pink and black is unlock, orange and violet is lock, red is hot, ground for the led is black, what’s the grey wire for?

2000 Durango

They were working fine everyday before. I got out and tried to lock it, Nothin so I just manually do it. When I get back in I’m immediately hit with that strong magic blue smoke smell. I can tell it came from my door switch. I smelled the other one and it was fine. So I pulled the door off and unhooked it replaced the fuse and when I try using the passenger side lock it blew the fuse immediately.

The “gate open” is dimly lit when the fuse is blown. the dome lights use the same 20a fuse so I put in a 15a to try the dome lights and that works but if I try the passenger side lock switch it will pop it.

Update I tried a 15a fuse and just tried to use the key fob and that works fine. If I try and unlock with the passenger side switch it works perfectly but when I try to lock them the overhead lights dim and the locks don’t do anything but blow the fuse.
