I became a United fan in my early teens in the early 2000s primarily because of Beckham. And then, just fell in love with the club.

My take:

I am optimistic about Carrick and the changes he has brought on to the club. I live the transfers business in the last 2-3 years. I even love Zirkzee and feel he has a Berbatov or Cantona-esque playing style and talent.

The majority of pundits love pounding on United. But one thing that IMO is critical is our attacking output since Carrick joined.

We are a threat going forward. And We score goals.

And I am sure with the new midfield gelling in, our defense will also keep improving.

The irony is that when Klopp took over, Liverpool were lauded on their attacking progress even though the defense wasn't clicking! They had to spend a club record to get VVD before things became better at the back.

But the same pundits, journalists (along with the short attention spans of the era we are in) are happy to put Carrick and United under the bus at a moment's notice.

So, to all the real United fans, enjoy the journey and ignore the haters. Haters gonna hate!
