My cosleeping toddler had her 1st independent nap

Well, she almost always naps on her own, but I help her to sleep, usually by nursing or laying with her. Today, at almost 2 year old, she told me to go and fell asleep on her own. It felt strange, but I am so proud of her for asking space when she needed and it felt right for her.

This is really a neutral experience for me. Not a win. Not necessarily as loss. Just part of the nonlinear sleep journey.

(Context: she sleeps in a big girl bed now, and has never slept a crib. We exclusively cosleep at night.)

Share a parenting win from the week/month

We often talk about the challenges (valid), but what win did you have this week.

I'll start, my girl only woke once two nights in a row and that was lovely. She has also been super affectionate and cuddly. Right before bed has been such a nice time to connect instead of stressing about it is taking XYZ minutes to fall asleep.

Community poll: Parent sleep needs

What are YOUR sleep needs?

I am a high sleep needs person. I could easily sleep 11 hours at night pre child. Recovery sleep has been essential for me.

My daughter LOVES the boob. It isn’t just something she enjoys, it is her passion 😆

I feel not ready to wean yet but think I will around 2.5. Roughly 6 months away. How?!

We are in the no/I don’t like it stage. Everything is no. She is feisty and independent. I want her to stay this was but also instill healthy boundaries. Any toddler or older moms have any suggestions?
