Plot Twist: YouTube Greed Revives Flailing Facebook

I joined the Creator Rewards program on Facebook and I'll admit, I wasn't taking it that seriously at first. I have 250K+ YouTube subs and just wanted to earn my $1K/month for 3 months and bounce. But, after YouTube decided to cut Shorts monetization for ~98% of creators (I actually triple the requirements and am safe on one channel but will lose $350/month on another channel with an average of 5M engaged views per 90 days).... I am starting to warm up to Facebook. The reels don't pay well, but... they pay. Now, they're linking shopping as well. I am getting a lot of engagement, nice build of community. I kind of like it there.... mostly because I know I'll get paid for my content no matter what.

100% of YPP will sign for 98% to lose revenue….

Conservative estimates are that 98% of creators in the YPP sign this and will lose their Shorts revenue. In other words, it is estimated 98%+ YPP creators do not have 10M engaged views in the last 90 days but still collected some form of payment.

Personally, my main channel is fine.

My second channel has 10M Short views in the last 90 days for a total of $1,027 in revenue. However, I will sign to get rid of this because only 5M of those views are engaged views.

I’ve reached out to several spaces and no one can tell me what a “qualified” view is defined as. Some say it’s assumed to be engaged. So, then the assumption goes back to less than 2% of creators will receive any form of payment for Shorts.

Just seems like a brutal cut. Bottom 50%, sure. But, cutting revenue to 98%…….. yikes.

Did the % change?

My review percentage is 54% but it is green. I thought we were supposed to maintain 60%? My evaluation is coming up in a week and I’m curious how this will be viewed.

Currently, I have reviewed 400 of 629 items which is 63% overall. But, I understand maybe it’s the % of recent orders and this evaluation period.

Should I review to get the bar to 60% before evaluation? Not looking to get gold, obviously.

YT Shopping Orders?

Any YouTube Shopping creators experiencing a lull in orders? I have similar amount of clicks but strangely not even 1 order since July 4th. I’ve had consistent orders since April with maybe a few days here and there of 0 but never almost 10 days in a row. 🤔

Abnormal Shorts Spikes?

Usually my established shorts follow a sort of wave pattern. This short keeps spiking out of nowhere. Algorithm changes?

Massive Subs Drop Since 5/9

Anyone else? Wasn’t sure if this is beginning of summer slump or something else going on. A few of my older shorts that aren’t really in line with the rest of my content took off into the millions. I’m thinking perhaps those influx of new viewers didn’t click through as much as my regular viewers do and my reach was limited?

Low LF Views on Tues., 5/12?

Algorithm change or coincidence?

Both of my channels experienced a sudden drop of long form views yesterday. Both 28-day lows.

Anyone else notice anything off with their LF views yesterday?
