Lugh altar - getting started

Lugh altar - getting started

This is my start on the first day - the stones are to represent his defeat of Balor, in the jar is grain and the grasses are also meant to symbolize grain. The book in the center is a book of Yeats poetry since Lugh is a poet and Yeats was Irish. The Shakespeare book symbolizes achievement and poetry, two of Lugh’s domains.
It’s only the first day so there is more I want to do - I need something more overtly “Lugh” like a painting or statue / carving of him, a spear, something like that. But I’m thinking of making something rather than buying because I think he’d like that.

This was my first

I bought my first FP three months ago. This dark blue Scriveiner. I love it so much I haven’t even considered needing or wanting another one, but I finally decided to do it so I won’t have to empty and refill inks to switch colors.
I ordered two brands I’ve never heard of. One is a Wordsworth and Black which I got because it seemed good quality and is simply beautiful. The other one is cheap and I got it for that reason, to seethe difference and just to have a spare. It’s a McNteik. That is not a typo.
Can anyone tell me what to expect with either of these?
I got F nibs on both.

Altar and question

Hi everyone,

My question is whether it is typical or unusual to honor and pray to Hecate without being a Hellenic Polytheist.

I have only been revering Hecate for about a week so I’m just learning. I was able to connect with her under the moon but really felt I needed an indoor space with her. This altar is not finished but almost. I didn’t light the candles because I haven’t dedicated it yet. - just wanted to share because it’s my first altar. I’m not a witch but I’m learning some small things. To me, my practice is more devotional but I assume it will evolve.

Ridiculously Boring Entry

I don’t recommend you read the actual words unless you want to fall asleep while rolling your eyes at the same time. It was 4:44 in the morning and I was super tired but couldn’t get back to sleep so I was writing and what was on my mind? Why it feels like Fall is only a month when it’s actually not. In great agonizing detail. It is boring to read now but was interesting to me as I was writing it. Can anyone relate to writing things like that? I’d like to hear the topics if you do :)

Today’s teal words 7-10-26

I always write in teal in this journal. It makes me happy and calm to see a whole journal with every page looking almost the same. Here is today’s entry. Just sharing.

First urban sketch

I’m a beginner - been sketching for a few months and doing watercolor for about two months but this is my first “urban sketch” style with buildings and stuff. I see flaws of course but I’m happy. Just sharing. :)

Help with Altar

Hi - I know there is more to altars than aesthetics and I do hope I’ve been offering in a good way and living well and learning. With that said, I like my altar except that there is so much empty space above it. That would be fine if it was on a tabletop or something but this is a little cubby so it looks weird like everything is just too small but I don’t want a huge Aphrodite statue either, I think that would also look strange. I’m looking for suggestions. Have included the shelf below for scale.
