2025 LT - Rear Seat Removal

Struggling to find an answer or helpful images/videos to help visualize a potential project. I'm not a car person, but I'm a lady with a need to improve the quality of comfort/safety for my dog when driving around.

My hope is to create more space to install a large/XL dog kennel for my 70 lb. mutt - let's call her a "Siberian Shepherd Heeler" (based on her DNA results). She has fairly long legs (guessing from the German Shepherd) so the standard clearance with the seats only folded down is a pretty tight squeeze when standing for her and I want to create more comfort for her during transport.

Basically want to completely remove as much of the rear seats as possible and create as much space between the floor and the roof (including losing a small amount of inches to make sure the surface is leveled for the kennel.

I'm mindful of the location of the spare tire and I'm open to having the kennel secured and sitting perpendicular behind the front seats if it doesn't create issues with the width space.

Is this possible? Even if a pain to do, has anyone done this or something similar?

Any suggestions or concerns I might be overlooking are welcomed.

Thanks y'all!

Hi Dads out there!

My Dad unfortunately departed from this world a little over a year ago. So I'm left lost when it comes to the knowledge of the practical world.

I'm looking at buying a used 2025 Chevy Trax LT or Trailblazer LT as my new commuting car because I have dogs and a Honda Civic sedan just doesn't cut it anymore.

The dealership has a few options around 27K to 34K miles and asking around $18K ($20k after all is said and done).

Is this a good call? What should I ask when I see see the car? What should I be hyper-aware of? This would be my first solo car purchase so I'm nervous about screwing up.

Thanks, Dad(s)!
