Dimensões do carretel masterprint

Obrigado!

Centauri Carbon 2: does it need upgrades/mods from the start?

Hi, guys!

TL;DR: Centauri Carbon 2 owners, in your experience, does the CC2 require any upgrades or mods right from the start to achieve good print quality and an overall good printing experience?

Gigantic version:

I’ve been 3D printing for a few years now. I’ve had a “classic” Anet A8 (with all the fire hazards from back then), a Biqu B1, an original Kobra Max, and two resin printers.

I’m not afraid of tinkering with electronics, mechanics, firmware, or replacing parts to get better prints. Actually, I enjoy doing that. But I’ve been waiting for a printer that doesn’t require all that effort right from the start.

For example:

  • Anet A8: It was pretty awful in its “vanilla” state. There were several upgrades that were basically considered mandatory before you could really trust/use the printer: a better cooling duct, new X/Y belt tensioners, resoldering the bed wires, and so on.
  • Biqu B1: Really good out of the box. The only upgrade I considered “required” was an auto-leveling probe, for which Biqu even provided an official 3D model for the mount.
  • Anycubic Kobra Max: Questionable bed-leveling system, a persistent Z-height issue, terrible stock cooling, and, since it’s a HUGE printer, quite a few leveling challenges.

My Biqu is now retired, my Kobra Max is heavily modded (linear rails on X, SKR Mini E3 V3, direct-drive extruder with a Revo nozzle, different cooling fans, nozzle camera, etc.), and my Anet A8 is long dead.

Now I really want a CoreXY printer for the speed, and multicolor printing would be a nice bonus.

I’ve been watching a lot of videos about the CC2, but we all know that YouTube reviews don’t always reflect the long-term experience of actually owning and using a printer.

I’ve also been reading a lot of Reddit threads. My impression so far is that some people love the printer, some have had problems with it, and there are also a lot of newcomers who may not yet have enough experience with the quirks of 3D printing to distinguish between an actual printer issue and the usual calibration/slicer/filament problems.

So, my question for Centauri Carbon 2 owners is:

Does the CC2 require any upgrades or mods from the start to achieve good, reliable print quality and an overall good experience?

I’m not asking whether it can be modded or improved — I know myself, and I’ll probably end up doing that eventually anyway. :)

What I really want to know is: will I need to start tinkering with it immediately to get consistently good prints, or can I leave it basically stock for a while and just enjoy printing?
