Need help fixing Google Merchant Center “Misrepresentation” suspension for Shopify store

Hey everyone,

I’m running a newer Shopify store and I recently got hit with a Google Merchant Center misrepresentation suspension. I’m trying to genuinely fix everything before requesting another review and would really appreciate advice from people who’ve dealt with this before.

So far, I’ve identified a few possible issues:

  • mismatched currency in shipping/delivery info
  • new domain/store with low trust history
  • AI-generated product/lifestyle images
  • imported/supplier review images
  • inconsistent product specs on one product page
  • possibly weak business transparency/contact info

I’ve already started fixing:

  • shipping/currency settings
  • policies/footer/contact pages
  • business info consistency
  • support email setup

A few questions:

  1. Has anyone successfully recovered from a misrepresentation suspension on a newer Shopify store?
  2. How strict is Google with AI-generated images if the product itself is real?
  3. Do supplier/imported review photos commonly trigger suspensions?
  4. How long should I wait after fixing issues before requesting another review?
  5. Are there any hidden trust signals Google checks that most people miss?

I’d really appreciate any real experience or advice because I’m trying to build this properly and avoid making things worse with another failed review request.

Thanks.

Google Shopping vs Performance Max for one product store?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently running a one product ecommerce store and trying to decide whether I should focus on a standard Google Shopping campaign or go with Performance Max.

The product is a relatively impulse-buy home product with strong visuals and decent margins. I’ve already got:

  • Shopify store set up
  • Merchant Center connected
  • Product feed approved
  • Conversion tracking set up

My main goal right now is getting profitable purchases as fast as possible while keeping ad spend efficient.

From what I understand:

  • Shopping gives more control over keywords/search terms and negatives
  • PMax can scale harder but sometimes wastes spend on YouTube/display traffic

For those of you who’ve actually tested both on a one product store:

  • Which performed better for you?
  • Did PMax outperform Shopping after enough data?
  • Would you start with Shopping first, then move into PMax later?
  • Any structure/budget tips?

Would appreciate any real experiences or advice.

Currently running a single product Performance Max campaign and trying to figure out the best ways to actually utilize AI throughout the process.

Not really talking about fully automated “press one button and profit” stuff — more how people are practically using AI to improve performance, creatives, funnels, optimization decisions, product research, landing pages, asset groups, etc.

Would love to know:

  • What AI tools are actually helping you
  • What tasks you still do manually
  • How you’re using AI without ruining campaign quality
  • Any workflows that genuinely improved results

Mainly interested in hearing from people running ecom/single product stores with PMax.

Open to any advice or strategies.

Hey all,

I’ve recently launched a Performance Max campaign for a single-product ecom store and I’m currently letting it run through the learning phase without making any major changes.

I’m aware of the usual advice around not touching budgets, bidding, or restructuring too early, so I’m trying to avoid interfering with the algorithm while it gathers data.

That said, I don’t want to fall into the trap of just sitting back and waiting if there are things I should be proactively working on during this period.

I’m mainly trying to understand how experienced people approach this phase in general — what areas you focus on, what actually moves the needle, and what tends to be a waste of time while the campaign is still learning.

Would really appreciate any insight into how you make the most of this stage without disrupting performance.
