how to avoid demodex blepharitis from happening again?

i am currently on week 2 (almost 3) of xdemvy. this is my first time having demodex blepharitis & i’ve never heard of it until this. how do you prevent it from reoccurring after you are done with the drops?

Xdemvy & My Story

i’ll give a little back story to my blepharitis. in early march, i woke up one day with red/dry eyes. i took a break from my contacts thinking they were just drew. after about a week of no relief , i went to urgent care. i was told that i had an infection & was prescribed eyedrops. this did nothing & after a few days i went to an ophthalmologist. he gave me steroid eyedrops and told me to come back in 2 weeks. i did that. i felt a little better but not much improvement. he then told me to take pataday twice a day and come back in a month. i sought a second opinion & that doctor told me i had blepharitis but didnt know what was causing it. she recommended that i see the optometrist in her office to change contact brands. mind you - at this point it’s been months of itchy, gritty, dry red eyes and i haven’t worn my contacts at all. the optometrist tells me that i have demodex blepharitis. he prescribed me xdemvy for 6 weeks. it’s been 2 weeks so far. i’m definitely feeling improvements. my eyes are less red & they are no longer itchy/gritty. i did notice though that i’ve experienced more acne and my eyes are still red. i thought that they would be less red by now. does anyone have any experience with xdemvy or any thoughts on this? i am terrified that this won’t work. i’m so sick of waking up everyday dealing with this.
