Left the sunroof open night before last and it rained. Now the car is having issues recognizing the key. If I remove the negative terminal of the battery for a while and put it back on I can start the car by pressing my key fob to the push-to-start button but once I turn the car back off I can't get anything. The car won't recognize the key when tapping it on the button, the lock and unlock buttons on the key won't unlock or lock the doors, and the door handles won't unlock or lock the car either. I know the battery in the car is good and I replaced the battery in the key. I've also disconnected the key antenna from the car and flushed both it and the plug with electronics contact cleaner. I'm at a loss. Should I let it air out for a few days or take it to the dealer or keep trying to troubleshoot myself?

Buddy of mine went to fly a Cherokee 180 and couldn't move the ailerons. After further investigation they found an unlabeled switch that would lock/unlock the ailerons. He said you could hear it engaging under the floorboard. Any ideas what this could be? I can't seem to find any information as to what was installed.
