As a Nigerian applicant from one of the countries affected by the travel restrictions, the uncertainty added another dimension to an already long journey. Through the waiting, RFE, silent updates, and uncertainty, I remained hopeful.

AOS I-485 RD: 10/22/2025

Biometric 12/3/2925

On August 13th I got the 3rd FTAO followed by IKA then 4mins later FAO1. My online case status changed to "USCIS is currently processing your case nothing is required from you " on August 17th. I received the RFE pdf in my document because I checked for it every time. The goodnews is that the evidence requested was very straight forward.

RFE request:

Submit Documentary Evidence to Establish that You Continue to Be Engaged in the Occupation that Is the Basis of Your National Interest Waiver (NIW)

Such evidence may include, but is not limited to:

1. A currently dated letter from your present employer;

2. Copies of recent and/or ongoing publications or research;

3. Copies of recent awards, grants or fellowships; or

4. Other such documentation confirming that you intend to carry out the terms and conditions of the underlying Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker. I'm working to submit all the evidence hopefully by this weekend. I believe this information will help someone

RD 10/22/2025. I got a silent update on 8/11/26 followed by a 3rd FTAO on 8/13/26 linked to the biometric done in 12/3/26. After like 40mins I saw another event code "IKA" and followed immediately after 4mins by FTA1 dated 8/14/26. Both events happen simultaneously. My online status now showing " As at 8/14/2026 USCIS is actively processing your case, nothing requires from you". Please want to know if this means RFE.
