Hello! I’m purchasing an older Ford E-350 box truck this evening down in Scott’s Valley and I’m trying to find somewhere around San Jose where I can safely park/store it for just about 6 days. Anywhere Scotts Valley and up works.

I’m traveling tomorrow for a family emergency and will be back Sunday night, so I really just need a temporary spot while I’m gone. I’m completely new to owning something this size and would REALLY appreciate any help or leads.

I’d normally just use a commercial truck/storage lot, but I’m buying the truck around 7:30 PM tonight and need somewhere to park it tonight. I’ll figure out the paperwork, longer-term parking, etc. properly once I’m back from my trip, and I’m hoping to avoid paying out the wazoo for a commercial lot when I only need a spot for a few days.

It’s roughly 22ft long and 10ft tall. A driveway, side yard, industrial lot, warehouse yard, or similar space could work.

I normally wouldn’t make a post like this, but I figured if there’s anywhere it’s okay to ask for help, it’s here.

My partner works in behavioral health supporting children with autism and spends her days driving between schools and homes. Last night, while driving into to SF to get dinner with family, our car suddenly suffered a major transmission failure. We found out the repair cost is way beyond what we can possibly spend right now.

We’re both trying our best, working incredibly hard, piecing things together, and trying not to panic. We're trying hard to figure out how she’s supposed to keep getting to work every day.

We’re in the Bay Area (San Jose), and trying to navigate the used car market right now has honestly felt really intense. Prices are all over the place and it feels hard to find something reliable without stretching way beyond what we can afford.

I figured I’d put this out into the universe and see if the Burner community might know someone who has a reliable older car sitting around, a spare daily driver, or even just a lead we should follow. We’re looking to buy something and can move quickly if it’s a fit. Nothing fancy at all, truly just something dependable that can get her from A to B.

Location: Bay Area / San Jose

Budget: We realistically have about $3-4k we can put toward this right now, so we’re hoping maybe someone has an older reliable car, extra daily driver, or knows someone who does.

Even if you don’t have a car, leads, ideas, or sharing this would mean a lot. Any help would be super, super appreciated.
