On May 13, 2026 Kouri Richins was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole on the aggravated murder charge. She also received the max sentencing on the other charges to run consecutively.

Judge Mrazik rules that Kouri will serve a sentence without possibility of parole for the murder of Eric Richins.

The other charges will run consecutively to this charge. Meaning each charge will run one after another.

The court ruled to the continuance of electronic media and camera coverage for all upcoming hearings.

The court also granted a continuance of the preliminary hearing. This hearing is now scheduled for several days in the beginning of June.
