Around here - realistically what is the ceiling for gas prices, is it unlimited?

Obviously gas prices keep going up and up because of the war in Iran, but realistically do they have a ceiling or do they just keep climbing like everything else? Right now where I live, gas is 5.29 a gallon, we are forecasted to see gas between 6 and 7 dollars a gallon by this summer. Does it go past 7 dollars a gallon? Could Americans see the national average as high as $10.00 a gallon?

And if it just keeps going up, what does that do to the economy as a whole? Would this cause the full collapse of industry / transportation etc? Trying to just understand maybe what we are looking at - is this something that would completely cause the destruction of society if say gas prices went to $15 to $20 a gallon or higher....

2007 Grand Cherokee with 5.7 V8 - what can I expect for lifespan of vehicle (considering purchasing replacement vehicle)

Hey folks like the post says. We have a 2007 Grand Cherokee that has the 5.7. It's 219k miles on the clock right now. We have only had to replace the common wear items (alternator, tires, etc). Right now it's parked because the front driveshaft is noisy, we have a quote with a trusted shop for around 900$ to repair it. My question to all of you experienced Jeepers, what can I expect mileage wise out of this vehicle? It runs great, doesn't smoke or knock, transmission still shifts great, and overall it has no issues other than the milage and the driveshaft.

If it was your vehicle, would you fix it? Or would you start thinking about a replacement? If I could even get 50k more miles out of it I would be grateful, as we would likely have enough money saved by then to replace it in full without having to take on another car payment. Thanks!
