Hello everyone I usually come to VA every Xmas and stay at the George Washington Hotel in their largest suite available. However it seems that I need to travel abruptly and they may not be able to accommodate me in a suite.

Are there any other hotels that have luxury suites in town?! Money is not an issue. It’s so hard to search through all the “noise” on google to figure out what hotels are truly 4 or 5 star and which are pretending to be.

Looking for a short term rental, just for one month but possibly longer, depending how difficult it is to find a permanent spot. Am looking to move in Nov 1., and maybe through December. Single man, 30’s, 2 small dogs. Would love a tiny home/cabin/trailer, but the ones I’ve found are already booked too far out. Affordability and location are probably the most important factors, but was also hoping for no roommates or shared common areas (lofts/basements are fine). Preferably under $1800/month. Doesn’t have to be in this exact area, but somewhere reasonably close to Front Royal. Any suggestions?

Hi I’m sure as most of you know Valley Health has swapped to a private equity. This means that physicians either took a 40% pay cut or they could leave. Of course, most of them left and are still leaving. I am currently employed at valley health and with multiple departments getting laid off, it’s not looking so good long term which is a heart breaker because before this happened I loved my job and thought I would have it for many years, but all good things must come to an end.

My reason for posting is that I’ve been scouted and offered a job at NFCU but through a 12 year contract through tential. They offered me higher pay, my only fear is if I will be happy at a call center. I’m not one bothered by words so I do have that plus. The other thing is my shift would be from 5pm until 3am which means I wouldn’t see my fiance or my roommate who both work 9-5s. I worry this will upset me in the future. Basically I feel as if I have to choose between 2 “eh” situations and some guidance/ if anyone who’s worked for these companies can give their personal experience. Tysm :)

Hey everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to apologize for the frequent posts. I'm still pretty new to Reddit, and I genuinely thought I was posting most of this content to my own page, not repeatedly posting in the Winchester community. Clearly, I still have a little learning to do! 😂 As a small business owner, I'm just excited to share what we're doing, but I completely understand that nobody wants their local community page flooded with business posts. I've got an August birthday kid who will be 5 next year and I've fallen into the rabbit hole of looking at schools in the area. We're zoned Armel Elementary which doesn't have the worst ratings but I have zero knowledge of how public school is done these days. I want my kid to be a kid still, go outside as much as possible, be social, learn things I guess. What do you even learn in Kindergarten these days? Cause all my memories are of half-day K, getting fudge pops for snack, and playing. Is there recess? Once? Twice? Tests? Homework? (I am vehemently against homework at any age but especially before 10)

Also I know there's a couple or private options, the Independent School of Winchester, a couple of religious schools that we've ruled out causes we are not religious, and then Powhatan school which is PRICEY and only goes up to 8th.

Plz help teachers, parents, students, etc. with opinions and thoughts.

I’m possibly transferring to Shenandoah University next year and I’m leaning towards off-campus housing since it’s slightly cheaper than living in a dorm. I’m wondering though how difficult it is to find people to live with me in an off-campus apartment to make rent cheaper. I can’t find any Facebook groups dedicated to this like there are at other schools, so if anyone knows where I should start let me know!
