Moved out of the US. Trying to move 401k from Principal. Fidelity or Scwab?

I am a conservative investor, all i need is peace of mind. I have about 75k in Principal. I am looking for the lowest stress possible. I will not keep my US phone number later and I will close my US bank account. Any suggestions on the best option?

Living alone is fun until you have panic attacks

I have been facing several problems all coming from different directions at the same time these past few days. This has badly affected my mental state. I didn’t even step out of my apartment for the past 4-5 days.

Worse still, I have vivid dreams that are impacting sleep patterns. I wish I had my mom with me right now.

Job scene for mid/senior level program managers looking to relocate

Posting on behalf of a friend in India who works as a senior program manager at a big IT company. She’s desperately trying to move to Dubai/Abu Dhabi. Has about 17 years of experience. Realistically, what are her chances to get something here? How much should she expect ti earn? She’s a single mother to a 6 year old and plans to relocate with her child and mother. Any suggestions?

Great aunt living alone passed away two days ago, and now I am spiraling

My great aunt lived a tragic life. Grew up in the shadow of her older sister (my grandmother) who wasn’t a very kind or caring person. Married young to an impotent loser who blamed her for not having kids. Got nothing but verbal abuse from mother in law. Husband died when she was in her 40s. She adopted a kid who later passed away as well. His treatment wiped away all her savings and she ended up selling her house.

Her evil sister in law insinuated she was sleeping with that young boy. My great aunt said nothing. When the same sister in law threw her husband (my aunt’s younger brother), she took him in. Cooked and cleaned for him. He passed away in his 60s.

Her younger sister who cheated her of money treated her like trash. Told her to not come to her place (they lived next door) and demanded money which she gave away.

In her final days, the poor woman lost her mind. She even drank phenyl but somehow survived. Eventually she just stopped eating and waking up. Instead of taking her to a hospital, her “family” left her alone in a squalid little room where she eventually died. In her final days, I desperately prayed for her death.

It has not been lost to me that I have a very similar fate awaiting me. My brother has severed ties with me and I have no one. It’s been a very difficult time and part of it is also because I feel like I didn’t save her.

Surprisingly, attracted to a guy I just met after 8 years of planned meeting

Met a guy I was supposed to meet 8 years ago

Ok, so some months ago I had shared here that in an unexpected turn of events, I was going to meet this guy I was supposed to meet 8 years ago in an arranged marriage setup. That meeting did not take place then. It finally did now.

I was told we were going to a party. As it turns out, my mother and I were the only guests. The guy arrived (I had only seen a pic some weeks prior), and I was immediately shocked at how he looked. He was clean shaven (in the pic he had a mustache), slimmer and quite good looking.

More surprisingly, he had a very cool personality. Spoke well to my mum and seemed very well mannered.

I told him my company was giving me the option to relocate or stay back, to which he said that’s actually great, you could stay back. He also invited us to his place before we left.

I was too red during the whole time because I realized it wasn’t so much a party as it was a set up, my first time.

I have been thinking about him a lot and I am so surprised because that doesn’t normally happen. My mother told me she saw him glancing at me from the sides.

It’s all good, but I am too afraid to tell my mum that I’d like to meet him alone. His mother acts like my mother in law anyway and if she finds out she’ll get too excited too soon. How do I approach this?

Edit: we are both 40 and Indian. He has rejected every single girl he was introduced to in these set ups previously. According to his mother though, he hasn’t said he’ll never marry.
