A significant portion of my research is building and psychometrically testing a new measure of disclosure that the field of suicide prevention is currently lacking.

I have a 2 year old DSH (spayed) who has had issues with vomiting beginning two days ago. Her vomit has no blood or bile, and it's just water and food. She hacked up a hairball (her first one) an hour ago. Her general presentation and behavior is otherwise fine (not lethargic or hiding, no pain or tenderness, able to use litterbox fine). No changes in diet.

We went to the vet yesterday and they weren't concerned about anything acute. They said if she gets worse, then go to urgent care. If anything, she seems to be stable, if not slightly improving as she has vomited much less over the past day. I wanted to take her in today for blood work but they're full and closed tomorrow and on Labor Day. The next available appointment is Tuesday.

On one hand, I want to take care of her. On the other hand, I don't want to take her to urgent care and get a huge bill for something that could go away with time like a stomach bug. Is it also possible to just take her to a different clinic for blood work?

Please help! First time cat owner and also a graduate student so I am mindful of finances.
