Incredible App for Maintaining/Learning NT Greek

Over the last several months I have developed a tool which I finally launched a few days ago, which has pastors as a large part of the target audience. I know that a majority of pastors have lost usage of their Greek, if they ever had it, and Koinetic.app was developed partly to make it much more likely for a busy pastor, student, or anyone to learn and then maintain working knowledge of Koine Greek.

Koinetic.app is a free all-inclusive Greek learning tool. It features
-an original digital paradigm system,
-the best parsing system available,
-an SRS flashcards system with many prebuilt decks,
-and an entire first year level course.
It has highly satisfying visuals, audio and responsive features, and a focus on convenience of use. This is so that people actually use and continue to use it. It is thoroughly tested and, to toot my own horn, is the best available digital tool for learning Koine Greek at any level.

I am a teacher and an intermediate-advanced student of Koine Greek. As I went through my beginner and intermediate phases, I was quite frustrated that the digital tools available for learning Biblical Greek were severely lacking, both pedagogically and technically. I was especially frustrated that there was no useful paradigm tool available. I also spent an inordinate amount of time creating actual quality SRS decks with principal parts, the genitive for nouns, etc., which was time I would have much rather spent actually learning vocab. ParseGreek is frankly the only quality tool available, and while being very useful, it is very dated and has significant room for improvement (and a paywall).

I began building Koinetic so that I could drill whatever paradigm I wanted on a whim. I then decided to make it highly satisfying and responsive so that it felt nice to use, so that I would use it. I then saw the potential of having everything in one place. It was fun to use too. I thought that with something so enjoyable and convenient, I could finally convince my wife to learn Koine. That led to months and months of work and refinements, every night after work and every weekend.

Koinetic.app also features a very robust (entirely optional) class and assignments system (I am a teacher remember). This is suitable for homeschools and seminaries, (and in-church Greek groups!) and I believe would be highly useful in both scenarios and any in between. Anyone can create and run a class at teachers.koinetic.app

It does have a "pro" subscription, which basically just gives greater access to some of the gamified challenge features across the systems, and is a way for users to support the project.

I would really, really appreciate you guys giving it a go. No matter your level of Greek, Koinetic will help you dramatically in being able to serve your congregations in the space of the languages. Please give me any and all feedback. I am going to continue working on this to make it as useful as it can possibly be.

It's also available on the App Store.

Worst/funniest Greek mistakes you've seen?

Recently I saw a comment under a Catholic v Protestant YouTube video. This comment unpacked a whole great big sermonising theory (Catholic or Protestant, I honestly could not tell), which hinged entirely on his revelation to us that the word καθολικός would be better translated as pure, and is the basis for many English words such as catharsis. I found that very amusing and gently corrected him about Καθαρός, but unfortunately he would not tell me where he heard that from!

I wondered if anyone else had any funny or otherwise stories about people who obviously don't know Greek making mistakes.

Hi, I am trying to get my hands on a specific cultivar of creeping thyme called "pink chintz," but can't find it anywhere online that actually ships to QLD. Could anybody help me out at all?

Hi all.

I would like to be able to replace a section of my lawn with a few different varieties of thyme in about a year. What would be the best method of propagating over this time (for money and time efficiency), seeds or cuttings/layering (from as few original plants as possible)?

From the research I've done, it seems that white-flowing varieties are only available to buy as clones as their seeds will return some pink to the flowers, but what about for the purple flowering plants?

I'm in subtropical Queensland, if relevant. Thank you so much in advance.

Hello, I have little money but plenty of patience and am hoping to be able to propagate a few types of time from seed so that I can replace a section of lawn with it in about a year's thyme.

I am looking for Thymus serpyllum (creeping), Thymus serpyllum coccineus, and Thymus pseudolanguinosus, (wooly thyme).

I am having trouble finding these being sold as seeds on the same website. Could anyone tell me if you've bought a certain brand of creeping thyme seeds, what colour flowers they ended up having? I imagine they may sell white-red just labelled as creeping thyme. And I can't find wooly thyme seeds at all!

Otherwise, does anyone have any other recommendations of how I could propagate them aside from from seeds.
