Waited too late to wean

My 6.5 month old daughter LOVES her snoo and swaddle. We tried weaning her out of it without luck. She did fine with one arm out, fine with the other arm out, both arms….absolutely not. We tried weaning mode, couldn’t stand it. Now we’re 6.5 months old and rolling over like an alligator. We let her sleep in the swaddle and snoo for a hit longer hoping she would transition and we would be on track for her big girl bed (crib).

Last night in a moment of desperation and sheer blind hope we just ripped the bandaid off and put her in a zipadee transition swaddle, moved the snoo into the nursery and the crib into our room.

Our daughter slept for about 3 hours at a time, my husband got a decent bit of sleep, and I the primary food source and nighttime staff member got no sleep.

I wouldn’t be pressured to get her out if she wasn’t too long to sleep in it hooray >99th percentile length baby! And I can tell she wants to move around more (but also be swaddled which we can’t do outside of the snoo).

Please help. I’m desperate. We are all exhausted. I just want her to sleep comfortably.

Social Media Photos

We are currently out of state celebrating my family reunion and my grandmothers 90th birthday. Last night our family went to dinner to catch up. Approximately 30 family members with everyone from across the country.

My husband and I are very adamant that we keep our daughter off of the internet. We don’t share her on our social media profiles. We don’t let others post her. We are very up front that you can take a million photos of her, just don’t post them online.

Last night one of my aunts posted pictures from the dinner on our family’s private facebook group. We asked her to remove the photos with our daughter’s face and all is well. My aunt removed them and apologized.

Now the guilt is setting in. Are we overreacting ? I don’t really post photos of myself or my husband or really anything on social media these days. Mostly just use it to share memes and decompress. Maybe complain about stuff happening in the world.

Is anyone else very anti-social media for their kids? Our daughter is 4months old and I imagine this is going to be harder to navigate than we initially thought.
