Hi, I'm transitioning to digital after being a vinyl-only bedroom dj for a long time. DnB has always been a side genre for me, but now that I'm going digital I want to build up a solid DnB music library.
I am specifically looking for the more chill type of DnB like "Mc Conrad's Logical Progression Level 4" ("Indian summer" in that album would be a great example of what I'm looking for)
I used to call this "Downtempo" but in Beatport and Bandcamp downtempo seems to be a totally different genre.
So could you point me out songs, labels, artists or tips on what to filter?
Hello, currently I have a setup that includes:
- Pioneer DJM-250 mixer (2 channel, many inputs)
- KRK powered monitors
- 2 reloop turntables (connected to phono line inputs)
- Pioneer CDJ-100s and a Bluetooth-to-RCA gadget (connected to line inputs)
The cd player and the bluetooth thingy are used only to play music, not for djing.
I want to move to a digital controller + turntable setup. Looking into Rane Performer as it allows me to connect both turntables to it and have 4 simultaneous channels.
The issue I have is that I will lose the ability to play music from my phone with the bluetooth thing and from my collection of CD with the CDJ-100s. Unless i unplug the TTs and plug in the other stuff every time I want to play some music, which is not an ideal solution.
I think I'll have to treat DJing and listening to music as two different setups.
So, what could I get (that it is not very expensive as I'll be buying the Rane) that I can hook up my CDJ-100s and play music from my phone.
Maybe I just need to buy another pair of speakers and hook them up to the DJM-250 which I won’t be using anymore?
What other ideas do you have, ideally with the option to also hook a mic as my teenage daughter likes to sing. Although this could also be done in the Rane as the ability to play instrumental versions using stems will be great for her.
