Anyone having issues with facilities no call/ ghosting interviews ?

Hello! I have been travelling for a year and a half and my current contract ends this week. I have not secured anything! A game keeps happening where I apply, my recruiters say the facility wants to schedule an interview, I give my availability, then they never call but the job shows as on hold and then closes. This has happened the 4 times in the last 2 weeks with hospitals in different states. I am not sure what to do. I am working with multiple apps and recruiters that I have worked with before. The most recent, a hospital closed a job I applied to but then told my recruiter that the person that was going to take the job decided not to and really wanted me based off my resume. My recruiter set up a time and then the facility stopped replying.

Anyone seeing the horrible rates and facility locations right now?

Last year was better for pay and locations but I didn't find anything a few months ago so had to take a low paying one near family and stay with them while driving 2 hours to work and 2 hours back 3 days in a row per week. I am now back to looking and the few I have applied to (within 10 minutes of their positngs) have been closed quickly and the facilities had "hired internally" I found one contract today that had 0 housing options within an hour radius because it was middle of nowhere. I have checked multiple agencieis and its so slow for east coast jobs. I already drove back from out west at the beginning of the year 😅

Influencer letting her dog lay on bed in fancy home store

I came across a tiktok where a girl was laughing that her dog thought it was "at home" since it jumped up on a well made bed display and was sprawled out on it. The store looked very high end so the bed was a tester bed with beautiful quilts and pillows. The dog messed it up and the girl posted it seeing no fault. The comments were people praising the dog. Someone asked "what if someone is allergic to dogs and lays on the bed?" A reply was "who cares about the human" and many people were attacking this person in the comments. Its so gross 🤢

Bought a 2025 crosssport SE w tech

I ended up purchasing a 2025 crosssport SE w tech yesterday. 13k miles 35k. I love it so far ! I will say, I am still nervous from vw horror stories, but my family and I have all owned "unreliable" vehicles that never had issues. I hope mine stays healthy because she is so pretty and drives amazing! Anyone w a cross sport and how long have you had it/long term opinions on it ?

Found an Atlas at a dealership and skeptical of the low price

Hello! My family has owned VW's and I am currently looking for one. I found a 2024 Atlas 2.0T SE at a dealership a few hours from me. (SE US). I was suprised because it has a beige interior, very well kept, no accident history/history of smoking. It was 29k but with dealership fees it said 31k. I called and they explained they leased the vehicle to a lady and the lease ended so she turned it in. On the car report is was vague but I saw the word "liened" so I am confused about that. I just haven't seen that kind of price on a vehicle with 17k miles. The dealer said they serviced it and took care of oil changes and regular maintenance so its certified.

Petsitting and dog doesn't follow any rule/routine that was discussed

Sort of a rant but also open for advice. I quit my stressful job and have been doing side gigs for a few months. My family friend asked if I could housesit/dogsit for almost 2 weeks. I said yes eagerly and too quickly. I won't say the price but lets just says they offered half of what the normal rate is for my area. They said they would have food but upon arrival it was maybe 3 things/basics and it looks like the rest was cleared out before their trip. So I have already spent my rate on groceries and have 12 more days to go 😥.

When I agreed to this I was told the dog is chill but I got blindsighted because once I agreed they booked their flights for vacation and THEN had me over for meet and greet. The dog was trying to eat my food at the dinner table and the family did nothing and laughed it off. The dog didn't listen to "no, get down" and had a weird thing where when they put her outside she would start to knock over their patio furniture, bark, sit at the door and whine like crazy. On top of that, I am an overnight sitter so hearing that the reason for it after the fact is because the dog can't be left unattended inside the home and can only be outside while I am gone from the house for short periods of time.

It has been really hard because they prepared a paper and left it for me to follow when they left. They acted like it would be chill and alot of rules made it seem like she would obey them. My life so far has been stuck in the house. The weather has been umbearable for any dog to be outside. I feel trapped because if I leave her in the home like they said not to do, she will tear things up and go crazy. I know I was underpaid but did it because its a family friend but now I feel like they underpaid and knew their dog was alot.

Things the dog has done:

Doesn't listen to any commands

no treats work except a chewy which won't work because this is for EVERY command it wants one

To go outside

To stop drooling at my feet when I am eating

To get off me on the furniture (because all it does is stomple me when I sit and won't ever settle down to actually lay on the couch)

To sit still for the walking harness

To not eat the cat food on the ground

To not chew on things inside the home when I am activally watching the dog do it

To not whine when put up in the crate at night (only at night will it go in when lured with any human food and won't stop whining -its not allowed in the room I am sleeping in per owner, I can't sleep near the cage because the furniture reeks and has visible dirt and oil on it from dog-

I have tried lowering my voice to sound manly, have tried regular dog bones (it only wants a chewy), I have tried getting down to dogs level and being excited and cheerful, it gets lots of pets and attention, I walk it when I can get the harness on about 2-3 times a day, fetch doesn't work because dog doesn't know that its suppose to retreive it.

If I use hand gestures and say phrases I see the dog react in the way it knows I want it to do something and it instantly gets excited because it expects the highest treat for it, starts to do the command like walk to the sliding door to go outside and then stops until it gets that high treat. If I am eating food I have to do it in the bedroom because it will go crazy trging to get it and won't stop jumping me for it, it will scratch the glass door and shake the door jumping on it over and over and over, unless I walk out in the yard with it, when I say "go pee!". It gets worked up and acts like It wants a treat. I have to ignore for over 20 min before the dog gives up and pees. If I stay inside the dog will just hyperfixate on breaking down the door to get in.

I don't know how to deal with this because I feel locked inside the home, I left for 2 hours and when I got home the glass door was being violently shook to get in and it was hot out. I can't ennoy the common area because the dog will trample me, I can walk the dog all day and it still will be bad with me in the home. I can't stay all day in the bedroom because it will try to destory things in the home, I can't crate it in the day as it whines, barks, violently shakes the cage. I am exhausted.

Best friend of 6 years mixed signals on our friendship

I have always had issues making girl-friends but I made a very strong friendship with my friend (we will call her Bailey) 6 years ago and I consistently keep getting let down and am questioning the friendship. We lived in the same town a few years and she moved a few states away for school. When she graduated she wanted me to be a guest with her parents. I paid for my flight and celebrated with her, I even flew back there last year to help her move back to my state. She left again months ago and all this time she has had a friend group in her state. I had to let go of jealousy but she does things with those friends that she wouldn't do with me. It has always been her way only for plans, or if I suggested something it can't be anything she dislikes.

At one point I made 2 friends and she agreed to sleep over for a party. Because she didn't like my friends she made an excuse and left early which hurt me. I have had dinner with Bailey and her friends before. She also has made comments about her best friend in her new state wanting to be maid of honor when she (Bailey) has a wedding and laughed waiting for my reaction (she was mine at my wedding last year...). Well I was paasing through her state months ago and she expected me to visit (I did and spent the night even though I went 2 hours out off of my route).

She visited me yesterday only because she was coming for an event and mentioned how she is throwing a huge birthday party when she turns 26 and her friends planned out all the cute decor already. (No invite for me even though I have time to visit and have multiple times). She also will be nearby me in a few weeks because she wanted to show her friends a cool theme park but did not give me an invite. She also does not care to respond to my paragraphs anymore but will send me drama and want me to read and conversate on it (if its my drama she sends one word answers) I guess I know where this is going but I get confused because she acts like I am a best friend by wanting my time but then won't reciprocate. I asked her to visit me while I was on my travels across the country (flight and stay included) and she never did. I am constantly expected to split costs with her and pay for her gas if she drives us but then she mentions how she buys her best friends things and does all of these things she never does in our friendship. I feel like maybe she doesn't like me as much but I am familiar and its a friendship surviving off of the fact we have known eachother so long.

Does anyone own a mini and a rabbit ? 🐰

Another question for everyone. I asked about kids last, but does anyone own a mini and a rabbit ? I have one and I have seen a few people with them that co-exist. My bunny likes dogs, interested to see if anyone owns both?

Are Mini Schnauzers good around kids?

Hello! I have experience with little dogs and everyone ones I have met can be sweet but bite/nip/resource guard. I was wondering if mini's can be trained to be around kids. My MILs dog will nip randomly at kids and full on growl and try to bite and thats even with training from a puppy. So my question is do Mini's have "little dog syndrome" ? I love the breed but I do want a cuddle dog that won't nip if potential kids want to kiss their head, pet them, hold them, etc.

Quit after working a few days due to lack of training and no lunch breaks- is this normal?

I have been with the same medical job since covid started and quit last year. I started looking for a job and found one at a medical clinic as an M.A which is similar to my scope but would be new to me in that role. I was told they wanted me to start early because the girl training me had put her notice in. I was told to sit with her. She glanced my way, said hello in an uninterested tone, then proceeded to get up and leave me there. I thought I should follow her because she began working with the first patients of the day but instead she did everything speedily, and everywhere I moved in the room I was in her way. No words spoken. She then chose an M.A that had little experience still and told me to train with her for the day.

I followed her around and was shocked that the clinic did not have basic equipment for only 4 rooms so while we were dealing with each patient, we had to run in and interrupt another patients room/care to "steal" what we needed. I witnessed other M.A's dig around in the trash with gloves and proceed to touch patients with the same gloves and I found that they rarely sanitize tools between patients and don't clean anything unless "blood" is present anywhere. The hazard trash was filled with a colony of nats and no trash bag. Nats were everywhere and the doctor put fly traps in each patients room. Dirty clinic.

I brought this up even to the nurse and she brushed it off.

The manager has been out of town and I found out they don't give lunch breaks :) I went to eat a snack after hearing that because I have a health condition. The "trainer" who ditched me said I can't do that and we eat as we go. The company even covered the break room table in boxes to prevent anyone from eating there. I know the cleanliness part is not normal but just wanted to hear from other people since I haven't been in a new job in forever. During "training" nobody showed me anything and kept leaving me behind and as I tried to keep up and ask questions, nobody answered them or said they weren't sure. My state doesn't have any labor laws but I really hope no breaks is not the norm now 😫
