Who is the worst character in your opinion?

I’m rewatching TWD for the first time in awhile. and I’m on season 5 and revisiting all my favorite and not-favorite characters.

Who is the worst character in the main show, in your opinion? A lot of people seem to hate Andrea, but I don’t think I hate her as much as I thought I did. Here’s who I hate:

Beth. She spends all her time crying or singing, except in season 3, when all she does is sing and take care of Judith. I know there was a scrapped storyline in s3 where she was supposed to die, but I think the writers realized there would be nobody left to take care of Judith if they got rid of her because everyone else was busy doing everything else.

I also hate Eugene because he’s so annoying and I hate his hair.

EDIT: these responses have reminded me that I actually hate Gabriel more than Eugene in season 5. My apologies to all the Eugene stans.

Most infuriating unresolved plot?

I recently started rewatching PLL for the first time since the show was still airing, and OH MY GOODNESS, the plot holes. There are so many things they set up and just never followed through on. What unresolved plot bothers you the most?

One of mine is the storyline with Hanna’s mom stealing money from the bank. They set that up and it just never goes anywhere.

EDIT: thank you friends for informing me that this does in fact get resolved! ^^ I had not yet reached that point in my rewatch before making this post.

Anyone else deal with “one-upping”?

I’ve posted here before about my MIL and her absenteeism. We recently saw her over the weekend and I realized during a conversation with her that she always has to one-up us when we talk about our son. My husband was talking about how many words our 16-month-old can say, and she responded with “well you knew more words than that when you were that age, I was worried your sister wouldn’t ever learn to talk when you were younger because you talked so much.”

And then later on it was “well I remember when you were younger, I had no help. I had to work 13 hour days and nobody helped me.” (This is not true, my husband’s grandparents literally lived with them at one point so they could help with childcare while she worked).

And then later on it was “Well you and your sister were really well-behaved in public. You never did anything wrong because I made sure you were well-behaved when you were little.”

And so on. It’s almost like she has to self-validate by making sure we know that she had it harder than we do, she was a better parent, etc. I know it likely has nothing to do with us and is all a result of some of her own personal issues, but it just really got to me for some reason and I never noticed it before this weekend.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

I recently reignited my romantasy journey and I’m re-familiarizing myself with all the books and series out there. As I’ve gone along, I’m seeing a lot of hate/dislike out there for a few specific books/series:

  1. The Powerless series
  2. The Cruel Prince series
  3. Silver Elite by Dani Francis

I have not read any of these, but I’ve been curious. I know opinions vary and just as many people like them, but I’m wondering why so many people dislike these. I know the whole controversy with Powerless being a supposed rip-off of the Red Queen series, but it seems like people have other issues besides that.

Would love to learn whether these are worth adding to my TBR or if I should just skip.

***UPDATE: WOW, lots of love for the Cruel Prince! I may need to add that one to my TBR.***
