If you're going to keep the concept of royalty around, then becoming a knight should be reserved for those people that are true heroes. A person who has dedicated their life to something that changes society for the better, or acts of pure heroism. I'd much rather we honor Sir Tim from down the street, who saved 5 kids from a fire than some guy who sold a million albums.
