Joy randomly -- but innocently -- asked Jen what her children's names are. For those of you who don't know, Jen's middle child is allegedly trans or in the process of becoming trans and so they changed their name. I'm sure Joy wasn't aware of that and asked because she was genuinely curious, but Whoopi caught on to Jen's uncomfortable pause and made a joke about their names being Pancake or something silly like that. This is Whoopi's strength on the panel - coming in to save a guest in an uncomfortable moment. I think Whoopi is problematic and my least favorite cohost, but i have to give it to her that she comes in clutch in these types of situations.
