It affects her in so many ways in how she has a hard time allowing herself to fall in love with Philip as the relationship was arranged initially and having trouble fully trusting him and having a long term marriage with full trust and expressing her feelings with Philip.
I feel Elizabeth is steely and stand offish at times and conflicted for a very good reason. Of course she is.
