I saw a trichologist today. What do you think of the treatment plan she suggested?

Firstly, how did I get to be in this sub?

The possible triggers:
- September 2025: extremely traumatic/stressful incident occurred)
- November 2025: 2 weeks with e-coli gut infection)
- November 2025: I stopped taking my birth control for 6 weeks because i was not metabolising it since i was using the toilet 10 times a day due to above e-coli infection.

I noticed the hair shedding in January 2026, after noticing this I returned from my overseas trip and saw my GP. She told me i likely have TE and that i had borderline low iron based on a blood test she asked for.

Since this GP visit I had been taking iron tablets every 2 days as recommended for 2 months. The hair kept falling!!!

I found a trichologist in a nearby city, and got the bloods she recommended.

My Ferritin was 32. I also had a vitamin D deficiency, despite the fact I surf regularly.

The game plan is:

- Take my iron tablet every day instead of every 2 days. And take it with food, whereas before i was taking it on an empty stomach with a bunch of other pills.
- Vitamin D supplements
- Phytogreens taken daily to help with the absorption of the supplements. Incl Collagen – Bovine or Marine:
- EFA Krill
- Multivitamin
- Scalp Dry Brush Therapy for 1 minute
- Scalp cleanser, shampoo and conditioner
- Remove gluten from diet as much as possible given it may be interfering with my iron absorption due to gluten sensitivities.

What do you think of the game plan? Would love to hear your thoughts.

I am a woman in her mid twenties and I have a photo of myself in my chess profile pic. This usually means people chat me while I try to play. If the game is getting hard I will reply back and distract them with conversation. I haven’t lost a game this way yet.

I used a still life reference pic from Pinterest. Who are your favourite YouTubers to learn from that teach the basics well. I am overwhelmed with all the educational content out there.
